Isn't the whole purpose of this to make maps popular that are currently not played, but good?

Seriously, most people here seem to like battle planets, why not just take that for the first map?

It seems like some people want to make so many polls till at some point their map comes out on top. That's seriously ridiculous. It's not even like there was only one chance for their map to be chosen or like people wouldn't consider playing anymore after the first map.

Hey! :D I just thought I'd say that I played the map with a couple friends, and am now upset that the map isn't popular, because I really wish I could keep playing it. =(

Is there some sort of organization going on so we can find players? If there already is then you can just hit me in the back of the head and point me in the right direction, haha.

(@Sandtrout UI buttons can be removed using SC2Layout files. I agree with you in that removing the MenuBar buttons would be beneficial to gameplay.)

I know that, the question was only if it is also possible to block them in the map itself, so you can still have the menu bar in every other map while you don't die to it in battle planets ;)

You could always try the battle planets chat channel. In EU it's sadly always empty, but maybe it's different in NA. Currently the only chance to play it seems to be to get friends into it. On EU we get a lot of games going because in the mafia channel (where i am quite regularly) a lot of people are open to try other maps when they don't want to play mafia atm. So, basically, just convince other people to try it :) Oh, and once the map of the week project starts, I hope there will be more games.

I only know about battle planets, but this thread has more content than the page that is linked in the op: http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/player-zone/map-feedback/20038-battle-planets-beta-release/

Maybe all mapmakers that have similar threads or pages should post them here, so voting gets easier.

@xSun: Go Chat changes may be kind of awkward. Do you mean that the text (game messages and player chat) appears in a separate window in the top left of the screen rather than the middle of the screen?

Rather bottom left as in Photon Cycles, but yeah, pretty much. Or take a look at Pictionary, where the chat is not even altered, just moved to the bottom left. That would improve the map very much, as a huge part of the fun is teasing and raging and laughing together, but it's just very annoying for the players that are still alive. What do you mean with awkward?

Oh now that I think of it: There is a option in the Menu to make the menubar in the top left (Achievements, Menu etc.) non-clickable, so that you have to use the F-keys. I've died so many times because i accidentally clicked on Help. :D Is it possible to block them in the map itself, or do I have to use the SC2 options?

I actually like the change for Sol. Right now, this map is boring once you played it a few rounds (not in the game but over all). With this change, it's more like a map for beginners and I think it would be good to say that at the start of the game or the tutorial (you should also mention that the suns are stronger in the other systems).

About the new options, we'll have to see how they play out.

Letting the host decide if the tutorial comes up or not is a very good idea. Maybe always start it when the majority of players is new and otherwise you still have the option to start it. That isn't neccessary right now as the map is only played in parties but in case the map gets more popular a public game could very well have a host who doesn't start the tutorial despite 4 of 5 players being new to it.

And if it's not too much work, I also strongly support the change of the chat.

anything blood, guns, and zombies works for me, but something nicer and party friendly must be the popular demand

different people like different games, so why do you have a problem with that? battle planets is a fun map that deserves to get more recognition.

The observer system sounds like a good solution, is it already implemented?

Singularity Charge seems to be extremely strong now, it's impossible to survive when you get hit by one of the strong accelerated little rocks. Sometimes you can get two people killed by one charge plus putting yourself in great danger I don't know what the best way to balance it would be, maybe try something between the former and the current force.

Also everybody eagerly awaits new skins :D

Ah, you're already working on the balance again :)

Point resets seem to get more, at least for me, I don't know if I'm just having bad luck right now or if it's the case for other players as well. But as all weapons are available now, it doesn't matter that much :) I'd like the chat change as well, it would make the chat less distracting while people that are knocked out can still chat about what's happening.

Keep up the good work, your map is just too good for the popularity system!

So, there are now 8 players participating, it will definitely happen. But more players would be really cool :) Try it out, doesn't matter if you don't even know the game, it's a lot of fun! You can potentially win A WHOLE EURO, and there's nothing to lose.

Thanks, I found the damage action and made it work :) Is there also a way to play sounds from the campaign without having to use the campaign dependencies?

posted a message on melee map with custom triggers

Hi, I'm completely new to mapping, so it's possible that I have overlooked some basic things. My question basically is: How can I maintain melee settings while using custom triggers?

I try to create a melee map with lava that is raising from time to time and killing units on the low ground. I used this tutorial for that purpose: http://forums.sc2mapster.com/resources/tutorials/5365-trigger-terrain-make-lava-water-raise-and-lower/ The problem is that now I get campaign settings for the players (no orbital command, units like firebats, no energy on the nexus etc.), instead of normal melee settings. The dependencies I have are: Liberty (Mod), Liberty Multi (Mod) [those were created when I chose melee at the beginning], as well as Liberty (Campaign), Liberty Story (Campaign) [I needed to add those for the lava]. They are in this order. I also didn't delete the melee initalization trigger (opposed to what is said in the tutorial), because I figured I needed it if I want it to be a melee map.

    Thanks
