    I am making a hatchery- esque building, but drones wont make the buildings. its the hatchery itself making the buildings. so the range for drones right now on buildings is like 1 or something, but i need it to be around 9... any ideas?? where in dat can i find this? i know its the drone morph ability, but i cant change the range.

    on a slightly different note, i want to make the infestor parasite tentacle reach from the hatchery building to the zerg building bubble, like how the infestor reaches to an enemy unit. any ideas? again i know its a passive ability, but I CANT FIGURE THIS OUT!!!! lol -thank you :D

    posted a message on Quick Noob help! Trying to make a dialog of an image. but i dont know what im doing wrong

    I make the event, which is map initialization, and the action which is creating a dialog of a picture. the picture is a static zeratul. when I test it tells me that the parameter is not met, and the trigger couldnt initiate. HELP PLEASE

    So, im making this melee type map called factions, after about 30 hours work I realized if this map will even be fun to play... I played starcraft BW conversion, and other melee type maps, but they lack certain things that make them seperate from blizzards official melee. I was thinking, i want to make rewards or unlockables for people that play enough. like after 200 xp points you can use this, or something of that origin. The map itself is a 1v1 or 2v2 style map. the rules are identical to blizzards melee maps. However, instead of just "protoss", the player selects from 2 different tribes of the protoss, which are the dark templar of shakuras, and the Khala that are from Auir. different units, different gameplay elements are implemented. (btw there are terran and zerg factions as well, so 6 in total.) So should only the normal team (for example, protoss) and one faction be available at first (Auir), and other factions are unlockable (Dark Templar)?

    or certain units unlockable? i dont want to imbalance the game by giving a player a HUGE advantage or anything. something small that keeps players coming back. Your thoughts?? thank you for your time

    btw if anyone cared the other factions are TERRAN - Sons of Korhal Raynors Raiders

    posted a message on Noobie problem with a menu

    I dont know how to make a selection screen of 2 buttons, with 2 pictures in those buttons... like the one in infested arena at the beginning. I have certain sites th show how to do this, but it tells me to make a "dialog folder", but i cant make a folder at all (in the trigger menu). and it tells me to make parameters, but the button is greyed out, idk whats up. I just want to make a simple selection at map initialization. PKLEASE help! just a push to get me in the right direction!! thank you,

    I need help making a selection screen, i want to make a race selection screen when the game initializes. basically it is only two buttons, with 2 pictures, and two blocks of text. but i dont know where to begin.... I want the menu like the beginning of "infested arena". any help?

    I want to make a smaller unit of a zergling called a swarmling. It basically evolves from a ling, like a baneling, but has 2 smaller lings instead of the original zergling. I just dont want to use lings as the swarmling model too...

    Any ideas? or downloads that you know of that look like a basic lingesque creature?

    Is there a decent Corsair model out there as well??

    I am making a map where different factions of the three races can be played. i.e. Dark protoss, or overmind zerg. My problem is making a menu from the start of the game, where a player that picked protoss in the lobby of the game has the choice between 2 different protoss tribes. So a menu with 2 buttons, a picture of the portrait of the faction leaders, and text below these pictures. Almost identical to the menu in the begining of infested arena... please help!!!!!! its killing me!

    I have two ideas for a somewhat original map,

    The first one is called "factions" it is very similar to the normal melee multiplayer, but instead of the 3 races (zerg terran protoss) there are 2 subfactions of each race, which coincide with the starcraft story. Terran - Raynors raiders, and the Dominion Zerg - Kerrigans brood, Remnants of the overmind Protoss- Descendants of auir, and the Shakuran (dark templar)

    Not only would there be different units, but there would be different gameplay styles altogether.

    I am working on a morale systems (like DOW) for the dominion infantry, which makes them strong in numbers, but frighten in some battle situations (siege, collossi, and banelings) which can be supplemented by captains which give an endurance aura.

    Raynors raiders can drop down infantry once researched

    The remnants of the overmind is a zerg cerebrate, which is the foundation of the race. A cerebrate is a living building for the zerg (however it is self aware), It takes the place of a hatchery, but the building creates the other buildings via tenticles (infested parasite animation goes into the ground, creates the bubble then dissapates when the building is finished). Instead of evolving to a lair, it grows. more tentacle grow and some attack (spine crawler), when the buildings are far away (like a proxxy for example) the tentacle burrows by the cerebrate, and must emerge from a pylon like structure (the structure does not give energy, but the tentacle emerges from the structure, like a spore canon fore example), You can only have one cerebrate, but you can evolve a hatchery into one if the original is destroyed.

    The other map does not have a name, but the stle is also melee, preferalby 3v3 or 4v4 There are 3 types of currency, minerals, gas, and technology (reasearch) like the campaign

    technology drops from units, and workers can gather them, but must take them back to the base. the higher teir unit, the higher probability of the technology dropping. so marauder = 1/5 chance, but seige 1/2 chance.

    If technology is obtained, and taken back to a friendly research facility, then it grants bonus uprades/ units to the member of the team.

    for example a group of marines kill some stalkers, take back the research and upgade a hardened shield of 5/5 so marines can withstand 1 seige assault. or with enough research the can get auto vespene geysers, or void canon siege tank (that model EXISTS BTW). so yeah any thoughts??

    ok well i did what was said, however, it seems that the zealots can still be attacked when the cloak is on... idk i think its weird, it seems that they appear to be cloaked, but are not temporarily invincible. there are no detectors for team 2 btw.

    Im making a unit thats like a dark zealot, and i want to have him turn invisible when he charges for those 4 seconds, and I would like to have the Zeratul blink (smoke) effect when the charge begins, however, whenh I try to make this ability, it never really works when i test. At first they would have the ability, but never use it. anyideas?
    I would love to know a simpler way to do this, like if i can just add cloak to charge, and when charge ands so does cloak. :/
