Ok, it sounds like I wasn't just blind then. I'll give those a shot, depending on how tough they become.

    Thanks!

posted a message on "Attribute bonus" through behaviors

Just started with the SC2 editor last week after a friend prodded me to make him a map. I've been getting some excellent tips from this forum so far, but I haven't found a solution to one problem.

I'd like to increase the attack damage of a particular unit against a particular attribute (e.g. Light/Mechanical/etc). This can be accomplished across all instances of a unit through an upgrade, but in this case I want to increase it for only one unit and not others. For this type of thing, adding a behavior to increase damage dealt would make sense, but there's no attribute-specific option, or at least I don't see it. And I've been known to miss things.

To be more clear, I'd like Marine A to have 5 damage base +1 vs Light and +2 vs Armored, whereas Marine B would have 3 damage base +3 vs Armored and +4 vs Biological, for example. Essentially, completely different damage stats. I'd also like to see this damage change in the tooltips, since otherwise it's impossible to tell how much damage you're doing.

I'm debating whether I'll need to add multiple weapons to each unit that each only target units with a particular attribute, then somehow applying behaviors to those individually, but that sounds suboptimal and perhaps impossible (haven't quite gotten to the implementation phase of this approach).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!
