Let me try to draw you out a little further.

How did you inspect the HotS maps? I re-downloaded Lakid's MPQ editor and the list files. Is that still viable to look at the Galaxy script?

And can you develop a trigger to overcome this restriction? Or can you use key words to find this code and change or delete it.

After more research I find that I have posted in the wrong section.

So I have reposted in Galaxy Scripting.

I posted in General Chat but it seems all you editor geeks hang out here and may be able to help me with my problem so I’m reposting here.

Hi there. I'm having a problem with game speed. I'm old, well 74 years young, and don't have the reflexes of you youngsters.

Which is why I don't ladder. I can and have but, I don't play well at the faster speed setting of the ladder. So I play custom games against the AI and redo the Campaigns a lot. Anything that will allow me to reduce the speed setting to slow or dead slower.

Now in LotV the Campaign speed settings have changed again. Before when playing at the normal difficulty I could reduce the speed to slow. Now normal difficulty is restricted to normal speed.

So how do I change the speed restriction and get the Campaign speed down to slow or slower in the campaigns? Back in 2011 I used Ladik's MPQ Editor to change the Insane cheat code so it did not have vision and extra money. So is that viable in this case?

This is not primarily for me but so I can teach or coach others. Following the old adage "Those who can't teach".

I'm not a programmer so I don't know code, but I can follow instructions very well.

I tried to ad you but I need your account number also. If you don't know it off the top of your head log onto B.net or the forums and click your name and it is shown there.

I would have to log in and out four times to give you all of mine. Once we are friended we can exchange information and talk.

I can get back up to speed on skype if you have it. It is so much easer than typing conversations.

Hi Big Don. If you want the slower speed setting I'm your man.

I live in Pensacola Florida. Most of Florida is eastern time zone, but the panhandle where I live is central.

I've had a few friends from the Zerg forum. I'm retired so I can be on B.net any time. I never had a fiend that I could play with. I won't ask someone to play at the slower speed because I know what that does to a ladder player. I don't want them to be broken like me. But we can do CO-OPS at the slower speed or some good old fashion 1v1 or 2v2.

I have four accounts. Unfortunately I've changed all of them to AncientOfDay, no 's' because of the 12 letter constraint. I can be up on any of them at any time because I'm leveling up on all of them.

You may have an advantage over me because I've gotten used to playing only against the AI. I'm the oldest known Zerg player at 74. I can play other Races but Zerg is my main.

I started playing StarCraft from the beginning which means I started playing in my 50's. After the campaigns I played a lot of FFAs and 1v2s, 1v3, and 1v4s. I didn't even know there was multiplayer until SC2 beta. However the faster speed of the ladder took all the fun out of playing StarCraft because I had played all those years at the slower speed.

A glimmer of hope. I see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Terhonator, In the Campaigns the speed setting is restricted to slow and above. As you change the difficulty of the campaign from casual to normal, hard and brutal, the speed setting is further restricted as you go up in difficulty.

So if you press F10 on brutal the speed is restricted to faster only, on hard it’s fast and above, and on normal it’s normal and above. And there is the root of my problem. I don’t want to play namby-pamby casual. I want to play on brutal so there is more and harder stuff the deal with, and more achievements. However, I can’t seem to get the things I need to do, done at the faster speed setting.

In multiplayer, under the custom or Vs AI tab it is not the same. I can beat any Elite AI with any Race because when you go F10 there is no speed restriction. You make the game at the faster speed but once it starts there is no speed restriction. That is why I don’t ladder. With the speed restriction I can’t get the things done that I need to do.

Now is it possible to unpack the StarCraft II.exe and change the speed setting so it defaults to slower or slow. Or would I have to change each specific campaign map. I did something similar to take away the insane difficulty’s cheats. But Blizzard has changed its packing system so I now need the proper tool to work with. With the right tool I would only have to change one line of code.

I came to you guys for help but maybe I did not express myself clearly.

I need a mod that when a campaign is loaded it will over ride the speed setting parameters so I can reduce the speed to slow or slower.

With the new file packing system I don't know how to get into the StarCraft client and change the settings.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Not to sound mean or anything but.... Why not just fight against the blizzard AI?

Anyone who has played the Blizard AI knows it is as dumb as a rock. It seems as the people here are the same way.

What will it take to convince you I'm not a troll? I'm just an old man who can't spell very well. If you can't spell a spell checker does not work that well. I spelled it pluse but the spell checker said pulse so I went with that. When I see plus it does not look right so what can it do?

I can do this alone but it will take forever. By that time some one will see this and say that's a good idea and do it before me, which is great, as long as it gets done. But I would like to be a part of it. I'm just looking for people to help me get it done. Is that not what this forum all about?

Look on the StarCraft forum for ClifftheBiff #705 or on TL for Cliff747 and you will see that I'm real. Troll or not it makes no nevermind as long as the project is completed. So take a chance and please help me.

PS; If any of you know EVORekatan ask him who I am and what I'm all about. He is my coach and does it for a living. He also streams on Justin.tv.

I'm too old to be a troll, if I understand what a troll is. I'm not looking for a professional, I'm looking to the community. I'm looking for some people that are excited as I am about this awsome new game that Blizzard has made. "If you build it they will come" is what I'm trying to do. There is a need and I'm trying to fill it.

@zeldarules28 How about you? You have written some tutorials, you've made a map. Are you up to the challenge to make something that will tax the limits of a Grand Master.

@ShadowDancer I see you have 2 assets. What are assets? Can you make a userinterphase, (is that how you spell it?) a UI that is as pleasing to look at as Blizzards.

We have a very large community here. Most know more than I will ever understand about programing. A lot of them do this for a living. Some like me just love the challenge of the game and merely dabble around the edges.

The goal is to make a tool that is sorely needed and that can be used by everyone.

OK you know my hearts desire. My hat is in the ring. Anyone else up to the challenge?

I would like to create a tool that can set up a game on any map in SC2, use any AI, and start at any point with in the game. The goal is to allow any player from low Bronze to Grand Master to pratice any portion of the game and be challenged by the AI so they will improve.

Building an AI that will challenge a Grand Master is a lofty goal but I know it can be done. Everything has already been done, we just have to intergrate it into the package.

Now about me. I'm 69 years old, retired so I have all the time in the world. I am not a programer or a progamer. I have a passion for all things StarCraft. I want to give back to the community and not line my pockets with gold. My Lord provides I have everything I need.

I'm looking for a programer that is good with Galaxy and C pulse pulse and will not say it can't be done but look for ways to do it. And someone to build a UI.

Your can PM me here or catch me on B.net ClifftheBiff #705

Hi Maaten, What's going on with the EagleAI? The web site is basicly closed since May 3rd. I see that you come here but there is nothing new. At 69 years old I understand that life and a job come first and that SC2 is just a game. I do hope you will continue with this project. I would like to call upon you for help with a project I'm starting which was inspired your AI.

I don’t understand all I know about this so here goes.

The Green Tea AI does not use a resource hack so the Blizzard AI is in effect.

    The GT AI uses;

    if ( PlayerDifficulty(player) >= c_skirMedium) { AISetDifficulty(player, c_diffNormalVision, false); } else { AISetDifficulty(player, c_diffNormalVision, true); }

Which I think means a map hack for Medium and above.

But I don’t understand the syntax and symbols. What does >= and == and != mean? How do you use () {;}? Where is the list of words like PlayerDifficulty c_diffNormalVision and c_skirMedium found?

I believe that this is Galaxy Script language so where do I go to read up on it? I’m not a programmer just a cut and paste man. I do not want to program “yet”, but I want to understand what I am seeing.

Thanks s3rius. I got the editor and opened Base Assets but my problem is I don't know what I'm looking at.

I'm trying to stop the Green Tea AI from cheating, but I don't know which file to look into. And I don't know the language. I'm just looking for key words that will tell me that's the code that allows the map hack or that's where he gets more minerals. I just need to know where to look.
