    I completely understand your point about the RPGs and how they usually end up incomplete, or without much replayability will get buried and never played. I do have a lot of great ideas for my RPG that includes a lot of replayability and a rich story from a familiar franchise.

    One question I do have though is, to make 100 levels for a Hero, would it be easier to use the blizzard veterency system? Or create one of your own using triggers? I would like each Hero to learn certain abilities at certain levels, and have different stat increases per level. I would like a STR AGI INT and LCK attribute system to go with it. I have been looking for guides to setup attributes nicely but have failed to find any.

    Hey mapster, long time forum lurker here don't post a whole lot. I've finally decided upon my first game I want to make for the SC2 arcade and I need your help. What I want is for the more experienced mappers to see what I want to do, and suggest ways to trigger them. The reasons I ask is, for one I want to minimize as much lag as possible, I want to not waste time writing triggers that could have been done much simpler and more than anything would love your suggestions to improve these ideas.

    So without revealing TOO much about my game, here's some of the systems and things I want to function correctly.

    10-12 Heroes each having a max level of 100. Players are able to switch between classes at any point, my question is can banks handle all this info? Would it take forever to code?

    A large inventory/usable items.

    Items that also level up with experience and/or item requirements.

    Random units spawning in random locations of a specific region.

    That's mostly what I'd like to start with. Thanks for any suggestions or telling me how realistic some of these ideas are for an new to average mapper.

    Yea I did fix that problem actually, You can control your allies units if he leaves, wether its to build or fight. The map just went live today on NA servers, give er a go if you have time =)

    posted a message on Zeratul's Arena 2!

    Thank you for your interest in my new custom map. You may have heard of the classic Zeratul's Arena from Brood Wars. I haven't seen many types of games with that style so I decided to do my best to make a sequel to the famous classic map. Some things I've added are new units, heros and king of the hill twist for the fighters.

    Gameplay, -To win, all you have to do is destroy all enemy Pylons. -Fighters fight for control of 6 hills on the field that provide them with minerals. -Minerals are used by the fighter to upgrade his units. -Minerals are used by the builder to support the fighter with units and heros.

    posted a message on Model animation resize?

    Basically, I rescaled the merc- seigebreakers to 1.3 from 0.9. Problem is when I use them in game and actually siege them up, the animation shows them quickly at the 0.9 model size rather than the 1.3 I set it to.

    I'm sure it's an easy fix but I've spent hours looking for it already rofl. Thanks guys.

    seems to work, my only problem now is the model that keeps showing is a big white circle with a few different colored squares inside of it. Currently messing with it to try and fix it but not quite sure what the problem is.

    Cannot find a good source to help accomplish what I need so I thought I would just create a thread and ask you guys,

    Basically theres 6 major points in my map that I'd like to crate minimap Icons for. Tried copying the way the xel'naga tower ones work but I have been unsuccessful.

    I'm not sure how many of you remember or have even played a map for Brood wars called Zeratul's Arena. Basically it was a builder/fighter type map with heros. The builder ally would macromanage his base and provide units to his fighter ally. The fighter ally would then gather his units and destroy the enemy bases on the battlefield.

    I have decided to remake this game for Starcraft 2 even with my limited knowledge of the editor. So far I have a very playable and very close to finished the map, however, the main reason for this thread is that I'm currently looking for someone skilled in the editor who might be interested in the map itself and might want to become part of it's success. Here's the basic design of the revamped game.

    Some new features I've brought to the map include a King of the hill fight for resources so they fighter ally can accumilate minerals to upgrade his units. I've added tiers of units in terms of strength and altered some existing units to make them more useful (Ultras, BCs, Broodlords to name a few). There is of course some other things I'd like to add and polish on but that's where I'm hoping I can find some help :)

    If you'd like a copy of the map to check it out or screenshots just send me a PM. can't seem to post them here.

    P.S. If you do decide to help complete the project I'd be more than happy to give you 50% credit. Assuming we fix and polish it to a fun replayable state.

    So I don't remember ever editing the Stimpack ability, however, I just recently noticed it doesn't show up on the command card or my marines marauders or firebats. I can research the ability, I tried making a new button on the command card but it didn't work. I looked up similar problems but didn't quite get the answers I needed.

    Was hoping somebody had a similar problem and might know what it is.. big thanks <3

    Sorry to bother you guys, but I've been kind of stumped on this one. What I want my trigger to do exactly is generate 3 minerals every 5 seconds to player X so long as he is the only player in region Y. If multiple players are in the region no one is awarded minerals, and If' you lose control of the hill, your minerals stop increasing.

    I've tried several attempts at mimicing triggers in the wiki but none seem to fit properly. Thanks in advance

    It does work, however It seems to be running the trigger more than once, For example I set the trigger to spawn 3 marines and it ends up spawning 15+
