That's also a concern, would it get played in WC3, I thnk that it would, since I think it's still a good game, but someone could prove me wrong.

    Hi fellow mapsters,

I'm finding myself in a troublespot, and I would like some insight into my problem ( which is not huge, but it could change many things ).
I'm looking forward to making a good RPG, and I know it'll take me quite some time. The thing which i'm challanged with is, do I want
to use the Starcraft 2 Editor? Or my good old Warcraft 3 Editor?
-You should know that I'd prefer a medieval inspired RPG, which the Warcrfat 3 editor covers easily, but i'd be open to making a futuristic one.
-My skills with the WC3 Editor ( triggers and anything related ) is way better than that of the Galaxy editor, except terraining, cuz it's cool.
That's my problem, I'd like to make a medieval RPG, which is easier since you have much base material with the wc3 editor, but would prefer
learning to use the SC2 editor, but i'd take way more time than I'd probably could spare.

    So... what should I do?

Aw, glad to see the work we've all spent in this project is worth something.

Mozared, if you need any help with the terrain, or look for ideas before you send this to the data guys, PM me, I'd love to spring this map to life.

Well, I'd be more of the terrain guy, I <3 terrain, altho I know my fair share of triggers and data.

BTW, map is attached down, whoever wants, take it.

Edit: Fogot to say I find this is a great idea.

Hey, I think I can solve your problem I had the same happen when I wanted my sieged tank mode use a flamethrower, he killed units, but fire didn't how up. There's an option on the weapons ( or effects, mind I don't remember I'll check as soon as I can, can't acces the editor right now ), which is named turret. The turret option allows you to set from where the weapon's actor will fire ie: The canon of a tank, the missile turret's front, a ghost's rifle, you just have to find it. I think it's in weapon tought.

Hope it solves your problem. ( you need to find the model for your unit so it will fire from theyr "turret position". )

I've been working on a boss fight which would involve certain events at set amounts of health but I just can't figure how to do it, i've toyed with some conditions and variables, just can't seem to figure it.
    The example:
    - 2500/3500 hp SCVs appear to repair the boss's tank.
I just can't find anything, any clues about how to do it?

posted a message on Hi, I love Starcraft :)

    I'll introduce myself a little.
Hello everyone on mapster, been following you guys since launch during the beta ( which I was in ).
I'm an avid starcraft player, playing starcraft 1 since I was 9 ( now I'm 19 ) although not to much success till lately ( was young, my apm sucked etc... ), the game is great and I loved the competitive aspect of the game. What I was intrigued about was Staredit, which I used to create a small campaign of about 6 missions which never made into release ( altho fully playable ) and some vs maps to play with my friends. Later, with the release of Warcraft 3 I picked up the World Editor as well, and saw massive improvement... but with 12-13 years I couldn't grasp all the complexity of scripts, variables, as well as many triggers which I had never seen in SC 1, so I decided to do something which I was good at, terraining. After a year of experimenting with the editor I left it for World of Warcraft ( never got into competitive WC3 matches ). I'm still playing wow, but something happened, Blizzard anounced Starcraft, I hyped and picked up the Warcraft 3 editor again... now with 17 years and started developing more complex triggers, boss fights ( which I kinda liked ) and some random maps with just terrain. But then magic, I got invited into SC2 beta, the editor was mine, and although I waited till the full version to start working with it, I checked up some things. I was amazed by the new editor ( and mostly becouse it was Starcraft ) but I also was a we bit scared... not becouse I'm not up to the challange, but becouse it's so diferent from the Wc3 editor that I was shocked... I was like: where the hell is my damage tab? Weapons? wtf? I'm currently working on a map which is not even near halfway done, but i hope in time it will be and I'll be able to make more maps in my spare time while also climbing on the sc2 ladder.

Sorry for this... text wall, but thanks if u read it, if not, thank you too, for atleast taking the time to enter this topic :) See you arround.
