If anyone could explan how to do these things or point me to a tutorial that would explain it I would really appreciate it.

    Quote from NuclearNuke: Go

All of this seems possible to do in the map editor besides number 1, you can not create custom models in sc2 editor you need a different program for that, but once you have them made you can import them into your game

And having evasion is the exact same as inaccurate shots isn't it? Does the same thing.

It would replicate it ok, but if possible I would like to implement accuracy due to the fact that I will have multiple unit types with different accuracy. For example a soldier with a M16 would hit maybe 25% of his shots, so I could replicate inaccuracy by making the enemy units dodge 75% of their attacks, but when I introduce a Little Bird Helicopter firing missiles to the equation, things change because I don't think anyone would be dodging 75% of missiles fired at them no matter how agile they are.

Also, where could I go to download a model editor? If there are multiple ones which one would you recommend for a slightly above novice user?

A few more questions I forgot to add:

    7. Assuming that you can change units accuracy, is there a way to change a units accuracy while it is moving? I have already given all units the ability to fire on the move, but I would like this ability to mirror its real life counterpart in that it is incredibly innaccurate. A possible solution I was thinking of was giving units a siege modesque ability that makes them stationary but increases accuracy drastically. If I possible I would like to avoid this potential solution due to the amount of A.I triggers it would require along with player micromanagement.

    8. I would also like to replicate a soldiers accuracy by randomizing where he would hit his target and therefore how much damage he would do. I was thinking of maybe giving units a range of possible damages (say 1-50) that would simulate where a target was hit, (1 for a graze 50 for a headshot) and then weighting the possible damage values in a way that corresponds to a humans physical stature. For example an instant kill shot would be to the head, which is not a very large target, so I would weight the 50 damage interval at around maybe 10%. The questions I have aboout this are 1) is their a hit detection system on SC2 that would make this all irrelevant? (I only suspect this as a possibility due to the third and first person shooters) and 2) would it even be possible to implement a system such as the one I described?

Hello everyone, I am currently working on a map recreating the events that took place during Operation Gothic Serpent. I am trying to make this map as realisitc as possible, but due to my inexperience with this editor it is proving to be quite a difficult task. I have run into a couple of dead ends and if anyone could help me get past these obstacles by answering some questions it would be greatly appreciated. Since I am currently only in the process of finishing the terrain layout (based off of satelite images of the city blocks the actual battle took place on), I have not run into many major problems yet, but I assure any of you that may help that I will have many more questions to be solved as I make progress on the map.

    Current Questions:

    1. How do you make custom unit models? I have tinkered around in the data editor but I cannot find out how to do it for the life of me.

    2. Is there any way to change a units accuracy? As it stands currently in SC2, units never miss (or at least I believe so). Obviously this is not realistic and a major part of my concept for the map relies on unit innaccuracy. I know you can change a units chance to avoid attacks, (which would represent accuracy well enough), but I would like to implement the real thing.

    3. Is there any way to generate speech in a voice of a unit on Starcraft 2? If there is where do I find it? If not, is there a way I can upload custom made speech onto the game?

    4. I have a list off all the names of soldiers and vehicles that actually participated in the battle, and I would like to name each one individually while keeping them as the same unit type. Is this possible? If so, how?

    5. I want to give players complete control of the leader of their squad, but I want the rest of their squad to be A.I teamates, to whom the player can then give basic commands (attack, move, stop, etc.) but cannot click on them and control them directly. Is this possible?

    6. This last question requires some explaination first. Operation Gothic Serpent was intitially thought of as a quick snatch and grab operation that would take roughly 1 hour. Soldiers in the actual battle assumed that the mission would go as planned (or that it would get scapped before takeoff) and therefore equiped themselves very lightly. I would like to replicate this situation in game by giving the players a choice as too what equipment to take with them (night vision goggles, kevlar vest, extra ammo, grenades, etc.), and have the quantity and variaty of equipment carrierd have effects on the game. For example, if a player chooses to cary a large quantity of items, I would like to have their movement speed slowed. Or if a player choose to take night vision goggles, they have better vision in the dark. Also, I doubt this is possible because it relies on the assumption that this question along with questions 4 and 5 are possible, but would I be able to let players create unique equipment sets for each unit in their squad?

Thank you for your time to anyone who looks over and/or responds to this post, I want to create as realistic of a map in respect for the soldiers who fought in this engagement.
