posted a message on Preferred Method for Playing (Multiplayer) Maps?

Alright, so by searching it, I guess I'll find the released version that its creator has published. Does this mean that if the author ever takes it down, I cannot play that map anymore? It seems that since we're all limited to five publishing slots, maps won't be up forever...

Okay, so I realize this is going to be a noob question, (I'm new here, so I'm allowed a few of those before people tire of me, right?), but I'm uncertain what I should be doing to play maps that I download from here.

Maps released on here are in their original .SC2Map format, so I gather to play them on single player, I load them up in the editor and test the document. For multiplayer, how do I do it? I've seen things about using a tool like SC2 Custom Map Patcher to essentially trick the game into loading a different map on a custom match. Since release, is this still the way people do it? Or is it common practice now to publish the map privately for custom games? I wasn't around during Beta, so I haven't been following all of this...

(If this post in the wrong area, my apologies. Your very kind moderators can move it to the right place, maybe.)
