Right click the map, and use the open with function. Then look for the starcraft 2 launcher and enjoy :)

Is that any different from opening the map with an editor, and then selecting "test map?" If you can't access the maps from within the game, through some directory or list, it feels like your circumventing the rules set up to govern custom map usage.

Yeah, just exploring/attacking. What are the specific triggers for that? I don't remember having to do all this crap w/ triggers with any other RTS map editor. Ever.

Okay, it's more likely that I just don't know what the hell I'm doing. I've made my first map, and multiplayer works fine, but I can't seem to set it up as a single player map.

It's a four player map, where each player starts out with one medic and four marines. When I set up the other players as "computer" instead of "user" and set the AI to default or computer, nothing really happens in game. The AI units just stand where they are, and don't move at all. Does AI have to be set up w/ triggers? That seems really... odd.

I've looked around as much as I can, but have yet to find anything out.

I'm not too keen on triggers at all, and from what I can tell, setting up victory and defeat triggers are a real hassle. I really wish the editor had a simple "game rules" thing where you could select team vs team, deathmatch, free-for-all, etc.

Anyway, I need to know the exact triggers I would need to put into a 4-player map for both defeat and victory. Defeat would be when all a player's units are destroyed, victory when all opposing players units are destroyed.

Of course, I also need to figure out how to set up the game as a free-for-all. Right now it's stuck as a 3v1 team battle, and I can't figure out how to change team/ally settings.........

EDIT: actually, what we need are just a few blank maps with the basic triggers already implementedthings like victory and defeat, and starting up player cameras over player starting positions.

Awesome, thanks! I've finally been able to finish my first map. It's not perfect, but it's given me a good idea of what I want to do next. Anyway, the one big problem with it is that the AI... doesn't seem to work. I've got a 4 player map set up, 1 human and 3 computer players. Each player starts out with a handful of units... the computer players are set to computer control and computer AI.... only they don't move. The AI just leaves the units where they are.... so unless I'm missing an AI setting, this map would only ever work online.

    Anyway, thanks again.

Hm... I must be doing something wrong, because I'm not finding those specific trigger elements.

On my map, I've got 1 goliath and 2 marines standing inside a circular region labeled "Region 001"

For the events, the closest I've got is "Unit - Any Unit Enters (Triggering region)".... but no way to specify Region 001, unless it's something with the "Value From Data Table (Region)... in which case I really have no idea what to put.

In terms of Actions... there's only one action listed with "Pick Each Unit." IT is "Pick Each Unit In Unit Group."

And for the sub-action "Unit - Change ownership of (Picked unit) to...." I cannot specify "triggering unit." Or at least I don't know how to. It's set as "Player 1," when I click to modify all I can do is change the integer, which unless I'm missing something, only lets me switch player 1 to player 2, 3, 4, etc.

posted a message on A Handfull of Questions......

So I'm really just starting to explore the Galaxy Editor, but I'm having trouble with a number of things. Hopefully, someone here will be able to help me out.

    1. How do I set it up so that when a unit (belonging to ANY player) enters a certain region, all of the neutral player units in that region join that player?

    2. The fog of war is too light! It ruins my map! I need to either make it completely black (the maps in the campaign have this, so it should be simple....), make it perpetual (so you can only ever see the terrain in a unit's line of sight... so even explored terrain is completely obscured) or disable the mini-map entirely.

    3. Any tips on fog? I've tried setting up fog for my map, but it doesn't seem to work well. 15.00 is the same as 100.00: the fog is so dense that you can't even see your units!
