    Okay so I exported my marine model file from the previewer and now I am trying to use the .m3 importer but when I do i get a window saying: The following textures were not found in your 3ds maps directories: Marine_Diffuse_Blood.dds Decal_Terran01_01.dds Marine_Specular_Blood.dds Marine_Normal_Blood.dds These textures will not be applied to the model. Continue?

    EDIT: Nvm, I seem to have figured it all out on my own for now, we will see how it goes.

    posted a message on Err... exporting...

    Okay so I wanna do some modeling for my maps, and so I got the .M3 importer and exporter stuff for 3ds. Now I may just be to tired to think properly, but I can't find any kind of export model type of utility inside the editor( just the import one). That would be fine, If I could find anywhere how I go about getting that asset file. Maybe I am missing something important here but I can't find that info anywhere. Please help!

    Hey so I have no idea how to use max or your plug-in yet(waiting for max to finish installing) but is it possible to make custom attachment points? I want to be able to attach custom armor in-game when an armor item is equipped, and I don't want to have to make a new model for every combination of different units and multiple pieces of armor. Is any of this idea plausible?

    posted a message on setting starting amount of custom resources and showing count ingame

    @xhatix: Go

    That doesn't actually do anything if you keep the (Set default melee resources) action in the map initialization trigger since I am pretty sure the action is coded to be 50 minerals and zero of anything else. At least as far as I have been able to test.

    And Smugjaw, I wish I could help but I really can't seem to find anything that would mod what is displayed. Are you sure it is what is displayed and not just that the starting amount has gone wrong somewhere?

    Edit- Actually have you changed any of the show resource slots inside the race data editor? Try checking that out and get back to me. Is it that the minerals display is at zero or just gone?

    You can't actually change the default melee resources in the map initialization trigger, so you do this instead: Trigger Get rid of the action that sets starting resources, and add a (Player- Pick each player in group) action with the player group being all players. Then in the sub-actions(or w/e) add the (Player- Modify player property) action with the player being Picked player, and the property minerals. Sounds complicated but is actually easy, and even easier when you just wanna do it for one player. Get rid of the (Player- Pick each player in group) loop and then just pick which player to modify.

    @RileyStarcraft: Go

    I was dreading that answer. I have a bit of experience with some of the free 3d modeling programs, but I still have 2 major problems with that. I haven't been able to figure out how to import/export models from the editor, and I don't know enough about attachment points to make that work. Is it possible to have the attachment points not model specific? What I mean is, I want to be able to change the armor pieces equipped and have the models attach on their own instead of having a separate model for each combination of equipment?

    So I am pretty inexperienced with this map editor, but I'm starting to figure things out. I found in the tutorials a couple about attaching units to other units, and it made me think of a cool idea. I am just having trouble figuring out where to start. Is it possibly to create attachment points on models or units? One thing I wanna do is try and attach something like ghost academies to a marines shoulder, or a command center to the chest. This would allow for making custom armor almost, and when you switch gear it would change what your armor looked like. Problem is I don't know how to start for figuring it out. If anyone has any ideas or knows if it's possible without any galaxy coding knowledge I would appreciate all the info I can get.

    but I can't seem to figure certain things out about this site. When it comes to teams I can't seem to find any way to join or apply, can only see their info page. I also have an issue with downloading assets. I am not sure how to do it. I go to the assets page and click the download link, which brings me to the version page. I think thats normal, so I then click the new download link, and it brings me to a webpage thats just half filled with what looks like a chunk of the code that is the library.
