    posted a message on Recruiting Team (new project) Need Data & Terrain developers

    We are starting creation on a new competitive hero based map focused on strategy, timing, combos and ability/hero synergy rather than ganking, items and button mashing. THIS IS NOT A DOTA. However we hope that someday it will viewed as something on a level above in competition. (A lofty goal? We think so, but we do believe it is a brilliant, "original" idea for a map that might some day get to such a point). I don't want to give away too much information for fear of people stealing the idea, but i will leave it at this: Think Worms Armageddon + Gears of War + Final Fantasy Tactics.     Currently we are looking for 1 or 2 more people who know their way around the data editor or are willing to learn, and someone who is good/enjoys working with terrain. We are pretty laid back, and understand that everyone has great ideas. By no means will you be required to "design the map like this" or "make this specific hero and ability". If you have some great ideas, bring them, we are looking for people who want to be apart of a team, not peons and grunts to do some labor.

    Its currently myself (doing mostly data editor work) and one other team members (triggers guru) working on it. Again we don't necessarily need expert map editors just simply people who are willing to learn and have a passion for it (After all we still have a good amount to learn ourselves).

    However if you are looking for a quick wambam map, Or are drawn to bright lights and special effects that impede game play like some current dota knockoffs currently out, then this isnt the right project for you. We are focusing on originality, game play mechanics and balance.

    While we are laid back, we do intend to make one of the best custom games out there. Hopefully we have interested some of you.

    posted a message on Attack Animation on ability?

    I know this is a noob question but i cant fine the answer to it anywhere. Essentially all i'm trying to do is duplicate the Ghost Snipe ability and put it on a marine... Everything is all nice and good except the marines firing animation when using the ability. He just stands there with the gun at ease while the bullet fires out. It looks ridiculous. All i want to do is have the same thing happen when the ghost uses the snipe ability. Have him raise his gun up and give the animation of him firing as the projectile leaves.

    Where do I even begin? I assume its an event in the actor but then everything i've tried doesnt work. Is there a model or animation some where of the marine firing i can link to an effect or actor? I know it has to be something relatively simple that i'm just missing.
