I returned as a gentle reminder there are three days left to join this contest. We do not anticipate much competition due to the dedication this would take.

Any map? And what are the terms?

This is the confusion with SC2Mapster and Campaign Creations: We do not utilize one single map for a project, we use multiple; whether it's three, five, or 40+ like some campaigns have used in the past. The terms are listed on the details on the main thread, it must be an original story with no prior development known of before your entry. A campaign is a string of maps tied together by a story, or what you play in single-player. Typically, it's difficult to create an entire campaign on a single map, the least I have scene is two, but took multiple hours to play through.

Apparently this was just released by Blizzard today:

Blizzard Entertainment has always taken cheating in any form in Blizzard games very seriously, and that's no different for StarCraft II. If a StarCraft II player is found to be cheating or using hacks or modifications in any form, then as outlined in our end user license agreement, that player can be permanently banned from the game. This means that the player will be permanently unable to log in to Battle.net to play StarCraft II with his or her account.

Playing StarCraft II legitimately means playing with an unaltered game client. Doing otherwise violates our policies for Battle.net, and it goes against the spirit of fair play that all of our games are based on. We strongly recommend that you avoid using any hacks, cheats, or exploits. Suspensions and bans of players that have used or start using cheats and hacks will begin in the near future.

Not to be a killjoy, but this thread to begin with is nothing new in terms of how to do mod the game, so I would highly suggest removing this from the front page since most people will never read this thread that only view the front page.

    Strange...I wonder what's Blizzard's reasoning for this...

Cheating, most likely. Imagine the clear advantage if you retexture all units to something more vibrant for Zerg, color coat them, and downgrade the creep's saturation. This would all be done through the MPQ, technically not harming others or affecting their gameplay, strategy, etc, but obviously giving you an advantage visually.

    Greetings,

I'd like to point out that as of this moment, editing the MPQ in any way to my understanding from conversations I've had with developers is a red flag for banning possibility. They monitor all files for adjustments occurring on the fly while the game is launched, thus the reason Quantam (creator of MPQ2k) has not bothered to update his program to create self executing MPQs. There was another thread in SC: Legacy about modding sound files, the download for the sound files was removed as soon as they also received confirmation that adjusting the MPQ's audio is also a possibility for banning as of this time. Again, I'm not saying don't do it or that it's a for sure situation, only that it will spark flags at this time.
