Hey all, thanks so much for the responses!

The issue is not with downloading. The download progress bar always completes, then the streaming data progress bar starts and freezes, often at around 75%. Also I have tried clearing my cache, and even uninstalling, deleting all files, and then reinstalling.

I have found an extremely strange workaround: if I am the leader of a party and join one of the games I'm having issues with I can get into the lobby and start the game. However, the entire time I am in the lobby the "Streaming Data" progress bar remains stuck at the top of the screen. I've tried some slightly different things (like being in a party but not the leader) and they don't work.

Anyone else run into this issue and have a fix? I've noticed there are a large variety of maps that I get stuck at streaming data for, and the common thread is that they have custom assets.

Very frustrating issue, especially for someone developing a map in which I would like to include custom assets.

    Update

Search for "Battlefront Card Game Demo" on arcade to try the game. All the core types of cards are now implemented, so the gameplay is pretty reflective of what I imagine the final game will look like.

Hi all! Long time lurker of this community, seems like the best place to get tutorials and discussion on sc2 mapmaking. Now on to the project!

    Project Description

The project is a tug of war collectible card game for arcade. You play cards to spawn units, build structures, or generally influence the battlefield. Each race (Terran, Zerg, Protoss) will have access to their own set of cards, which will be based on the lore of the Starcraft universe.

    Current Status

I've already done a LOT of the heavy lifting; the working demo is complete. The interface and gameplay work, but the card selection is limited, there's only one race (Terran), and there's only one type of card (cards that summon units).

My next goal is to create a polished standard deck for each race. Then I want to add in the ability to earn cards, build decks, and save your collection between playing.

    Project Roles

I'm looking for one or two designers with experience in card games and/or starcraft lore. I'm mostly looking for creative help here; I want help developing cards that bring to life the lore of the Starcraft universe. The more knowledge you have of the campaigns from Starcraft, Brood War, and Starcraft II the better.

Example of boring card idea: Marine Squad - Create 3 Marines. This card is practical (it's useful to have a card that create Marines) but not very interesting. I believe it's actually good design to have some simple, boring cards as it makes the game easier to understand, but I don't want too many of them.

Example of more creative card: Antique Vulture - Create a Vulture with 75% health. This card fits into the lore of starcraft (vultures are outdated technology) and could synergize with another card that repairs mechanical units.

If you're someone who can spin out creative names and ideas for this kind of thing, you may be right for the project! I'm looking for someone who can produce a polished word/excel document with loads of creative card ideas.

    Logistics

I live in EST timezone and work a 9-5 job. I've been working on this project a few hours during the week, and a lot of hours on the weekends, but I don't have any consistent schedule nor do I plan to. I'll want to communicate using some kind of voice chat (Skype maybe?)

If you're interested in this project I'll start by showing you the demo and some of the rules/concepts of the game and we'll go from there!

    Thanks for reading!
