Can definitely say that the issue is with following the unit and then having it zoom from there. When I have it stop following the unit and then zoom, the zoom sticks, but then I lose the unit's perspective and can freely rotate the camera and end up looking directly at my unit.

I was able to just use the field of view camera property to do a small zoom, but would eventually like to be able to use the actual zoom action for more control.

I think the issue is that the camera is set to follow my unit. I am modifying the zoom trigger built into the library. I also disabled everything that effects the camera while I am zoomed.

I've messed with zoom camera quite a bit, figuring that should do what I need, but I must be doing something wrong with it. I have it set to zoom the camera at the target point from 0.01 to 0.01 over .3 seconds. It zooms in perfectly, but then immediately zooms out and puts it into first person. It seems like the first distance it asks for is the distance from the point it's zooming to, and then the 2nd distance is the distance from the unit the camera is following.

I need it to stay zoomed in till I let go of the right mouse key, but no matter how I set the distances in the zoom camera trigger, it immediately snaps back. Same with the time on it, I can set it to 60 seconds and it goes slightly slower back to my character, but still snaps back pretty fast.

I'm using a third person shooter library and am trying to make the right click zoom behave more like a sniper scope. The only way I have been able to successfully have it zoom properly is using Make Camera Look At trigger, which has the unfortunate side effect of not using the character's perspective. So after I zoom in, if I try to just look around it rotates around the new camera focal point. Is there a way I can have it zoom in a reasonable distance but keep the camera from my character's perspective, like sniping in a FPS?

I'm also using the traceline function I found in another thread to help determine the point to zoom to. Basically it will zoom in a set amount, but if there is a unit/terrain/object in the way, it'll stop and just show that up close

posted a message on [Request] Sniper scope mask

I'm looking to create a sniper scope (such as http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/skins-552/scope-pwning-noobs-61974/?prev=search%3DSniper%26d%3Dlist%26r%3D20)

Since it was possible in wc3 I'm guessing it's entirely possible in the sc2 editor, just not sure where to even begin as I am not much of a graphics artist. I found tutorials on creating tiles/unit skins, but nothing that I can figure out how to mold into what I need. Any tips? Anything already created I some how missed?
