    I like staredit.net's website's functionality/look. But it is very inactive.

    And as for features, I think a store, like staredit.net's, would be nice. You earn minerals by contests and helpfulness, and spend them on things like color in names, titles, and signatures.

    Given that you don't mind the image not being visible on the minimap, why don't you just set the image as a terrain texture and slap that down?

    posted a message on How do I share my map with my team?

    @Vicboy: Go

    Serious post now, what I did, for I think like 6 months with my team, was used Dropbox. But I never installed Dropbox, I always uploaded files from the site, so the file being uploaded was never at risk and the original file always stayed on my computer.

    And I'm assuming by Dropbox, you're referring to any cloud? Because from what I understand, they're all susceptible to sync errors (corrupting).

    What you do is, you put the Dropbox folder in a Google Drive, and then you stick that folder in a Skybox.

    I just made that up, but it sounds cool.

    posted a message on Why is everyone so serious??

    @TacoManStan: Go

    I can understand how some people get a kick out of trolling, so I was just saying that it is not a reasonable basis on which to presume insanity. More to the point, if he IS trolling, I think he's doing a pretty good job, everything (language, grammar, reasoning) seems to suggest his sentiments are authentic and he's accomplishing what his intent was. If he ISN'T trolling, then sure, he either needs some help, guidance, or age (he very may be 13-15, who knows?).

    Either way, I would deem this thread worthy of being deleted (or locked, not sure if mods can actually delete threads). To me, it falls under the category of hate speech. It even has a misleading title. A large ethnic/religious group may be offended by this, and it offers no content for discussion (other than authenticity/mental state of the author.) Mods, I am disappointed that not only is it not being closed, but you're actively participating in this.

    If this is a troll, and you think this is funny, you need help. So. GET HELP.

    I don't think that's a fair analysis.

    I think you guys are being a little too... serious.

    Quote from FenixKissKerrigan: Go

    cmon, he got called stupid by a mod, shouldn't the mod get punished for that?

    Edit: The quote was an example of seriousness, not that I agree with it.

    posted a message on I have an idea, without the skills.

    I see more potential for a map like this where one (or more) player on each team plays from an RTS view and basically fulfills all the roles of the AI. So the heroes would have to work with their "player AI" to control minerals fields in the jungles, etc. And the player AI in turn would give minerals to their heroes and have the minions help them fight.

    Quote from Nebuli2: Go

    Honestly, what I would much rather see, though doubt Blizzard will do, would be to nicely package up most of the models and textures from Diablo 3 into a Starcraft 2 dependency for us to use.

    I like that a lot. It would be much easier to make a medieval themed map with even just the models.

    Curious though. couldn't someone make a D3 model viewer like what was done with the WoW Model Viewer?

    posted a message on Opening/Closing Doors of Story Mode Set Models?

    Hello,

    I'm trying to make the model of the unit "SM - Hyperion Bridge Set (Stage 1)" play it's opening and closing animations. I know it's possible from maps/vids I've seen.

    I've searched around the forums already and it seems that the solution is to play the animation Highlight End/Start but that isn't working for me. I've also played all of the animations for the model in the cutscene editor, none of which play any animation. Any help would be appreciated.

    I like the idea. I made my own SC2 card game, however it wasn't as in-depth as you plan yours to be. I'm not willing to take on any projects, as i have my own, right now but I'd definitely stay tentative to your project.

    I don't know, I'm still working on it, however I really don't want to work on the terrain since I'm not very good at it and also because I don't want to waste my time with that. But I also don't like asking people to work for me so IDK.

    posted a message on (Solved) Permanent Unit Selection.

    @Demtrod: Go

    After the trigger selects the unit for the player, use the action "Enable/Disable Selection Type" then change the type parameter to "all." If the permanently selected unit dies or the unit that you want selected changes, you'll have to reenable the selection types before you select it for the player. I've seen some maps a method like yours before, but I think that was to allow units to be clicked and trigger the corresponding event. So if you do it this way, I'm assuming you won't be able to use the event "unit is clicked."
