    posted a message on SEA to US region questions

    First off, you might be wondering why I am asking in this community site but not in the Starcraft 2 community site, well I can answer that with the fact that I can't ask any questions or post any threads there.

    Ok onto the questions:
    1. When I have to change region, do I have to download the US game client?
    2. When I have to download the US game client, how much MBs or GBs does it take to download?

    If anyone can answer them, that would be grateful.

    Going to release a map soon (1 month?), maybe you learn off it :) , btw I tested your lastest map, and I just thought you could add a more rewarding optional quest, than just defend the civilians and keep a current amount of civilians alive till the end of the mission. The mission could be improved more with the adding of default buildings to make it look more like you have settled on the planet (I had 200 units on the planet in the last mission on the planet, where are they now?), other than that, you are improving alot ;)

    posted a message on Can you change terrain in game?

    @Terhonator: Go

    That is completely different. The doodads in Piercing of Shroud were pre-placed and no triggers were used. Blizzard made two separate islands on the map. One is destroyed and one is not destroyed. They used camera bounds to shift between the destroyed island and not destroyed island. Hopes this helps.

    LOLOLOL I checked out the ending of F.E.A.R 2 and ... man was I shocked (How the hell can Becket Fight an ash man while been raped by the girl lol) by it. In my years of gaming, I have never seen a game with the protagonist been raped.

    Question:
    Why the hell does that girl keep haunting you in F.E.A.R 3, even though you are the son of that girl?!

    I'm doing nothing to enforce these questions because I can't. True
    Even if you answer all of the questions with yes, I can't make you finish the map and release it to the public. True

    What you have said are all true. However, even though I can't enforce these questions, I can ask people, people don't have to listen to me, why should they be forced to listen to me? I am not even 50% correct but I can give guidance to people to help them. I am asking people to answer these questions so they have a better chance and self motivation to finish the map. If you are motivated, you have a good chance to finish this map and even if you don't finish your map, you can release what is done and let other people finish it off.

    @DrSuperEvil: Go

    I like this guy. I Totally agree with you. Map Making is a hobby and we do have real life to deal with. Map Making should come last in our list and that is why I want to ask "Are you willing to give up up some spare time?" and "Are you dedicated to this map?". Many of the maps I seen that have been abandoned lacks dedication and time.

    That is why I want to ask the people who are going to make a "Planning" Project to ask themselves these questions, I don't want to make mapping a job or do I want people to get use to abandoning projects because of lack of future preferences and self preferences. Like I said, life is number 1 and life is hard. Mapping should come last, not first. I also don't want people to think that once they start a project, that they can just throw it away, because you know its a hobby.

    posted a message on Planning Games. Do they really get off the feet?

    Ha Ha, I am sorry if you think I am trolling. But I am not. I do wait for maps to come out and I eagerly review them. I am asking those people who create planning maps and then just forget about. I want them to ask themselves, are they willing to commit to the project and do finish the project? If not, then don't create a planning map.

    There are so many good mappers out there that create planning maps and I have no problems with it. I am not expecting A HUGE amount of dedication and I am not expecting no dedication at all. I know life is hard and life is always there to hold us back and there are things a lot better than Sc2 in general. I just don't think planning maps should be for those who are not dedicated. That is why I created this thread. To encourage those who have a Great map and they want to show everyone to ask themselves:

    1. Are you dedicated to this map?

    2. Are you willing to give up some spare time to create maps to everyone?

    3. Is this your thing?

    I am sorry if I seem so rude and arrogant, I just want to pass a message across to those people who are about to create planning maps.

    P.S - I should of made more sense in this thread

    I think this is a real problem because 90% of the time, the map never materializes and that is just waste of time and space. I mean whats the point of creating a project, under the label of "Planning" and never finish it or finish it in 10 years time (Come on SOTIS was created 2-3 months after the release of Sc2). I am asking people to stop showing off your idea when you aren't going to finish it. I mean can't you just wait till you finished creating your map then release it? And this is disturbing me now because of the abundant of "Planning" maps been released, going back to the old Sc2mapster days, people will be eager to release proper maps. Now we have people releasing these "Planning" maps forever reasons. I am not pointing out useless topics, I just want to encourage people to stop doing this (Check out the map page. Nearly the whole of first page is "Planning Maps", it is drowning out the released maps).

    @TacoManStan: Go

    TacoMan I like to ask since when does creating a project under the title "planning" is an incentive to create maps?
