I've been trying to figure out how I can change a units weapon with triggers.
Not the units Weapon Model, but the Weapon effect so to speak. So for example a Ghost shoots with a Siege Tank Cannon rather than a C-10 rifle.
Problem is I think need to apply the weapon change as an effect.
But I can't seem to make the proper effect to change the weapon for the unit when I apply it with a trigger.
I would like to know how I would go about making a functional Experience system both for Single Player and Multiplayer usage because all my attempts have been in vain. Only tried to make a Single Player system so far.
So far I've tried to find guides on these forums as well as on the net and they point towards something called a Veterancy behavior. But those posts are from 2010 and it seems they address bugs with the editor (such as very little Experience support and weird workarounds) that I am not sure still exist here in 2011.
Could I get some help please?
If it's completely trigger based that would be kick-ass..unless it'll be too inefficient of course because of lag and stuff.
There is a malfunctioning Protoss Beacon in the middle of the map. Beacause of the malfunction it has the ability to warp in heroic individuals from across the galaxy. Controlling it may prove crucial as all the races are fighting for this piece of intergalatic machinery!
You have to be the last player standing, in order to win. Controlling the beacon will give a sicnificant advantage against your opponents.

4 Protoss Heroes
3 Zerg Heroes
