You can use existing models, to do do that effect, just change the color of them. I know that there is some models already on Editor that can make that Descending Beam.
Triggering Unit should not work in events.
Triggering unit its a way to mention the Unit that Triggered some actions.
E.G Any unit enters Region 001
Move Triggering Unit Instatly to..
Triggering Unit its the unit that entered in Region 001. I made this example to try to explain you why, triggering unit shall not be used on Events.

To you to see the placement, you need it do set on the actor. Normally its already setted.
