    after 2 days of searching and people supplying me links i have finally found the way to use starcraft's models and use them on pepakura designer

    Programs needed:

    http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/download/dxtbmpx.EXE DxtBMP(dds to bmp converter)

    http://www.zezula.net/download/mpqediten32.zip MPQEditor

    http://www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en/ Pepakura Designer( program used to create papercraft from 3d models)

    Files needed:

    base.SC2Assets(Assuming you all have sc2 installed) usually located in C:\Program Files\StarCraft II\Mods\Liberty.SC2Mod

    Step one: Go to your Starcraft 2 directory C:\Program Files\StarCraft II - nibbits\Mods\Liberty.SC2Mod and find the file called "base.SC2Assets" create a back up(copy and paste)

    Step two: Open MPQEditor.exe and go to file>open(find where you copied your base.SC2Assets and open)

    Step three: go to Assets>Units and select your race and find a unit, double click your unit's folder and to the right select 'your unit's name'.m3. Right click it, click extract select your destination and click ok.

    Step four: In MPQEditor go back to your Assets folder and open the folder called textures. find your texture 'Unit's name'_specular.dds.

    Step five: Right click the file, click extract and select your destination. Quit MPQEditor

    Step six: Open DxtBMP.exe go to file>open the destination of your texture file(from step 4-5) let it load.

    Step seven: In DxtBMP go to file>save as>24 bit BMP file. Exit DxtBMP.

    Step eight: Move 'your unit's name'.m3 to m3 Viewer's directory(m3 viewer\Content\models) Move 'your unit's name'_specular.dds to (m3 viewer\Content\textures)

    Step nine: Open M3_Viewer press Tab and cycle through the models until your unit pops up then press space.

    Step ten: Open Pepakura Designer click file>open and select (m3 viewer\Content\export) and file your obj file ('unit's name'.obj) now there should be a pop up. Select close.

    Step eleven: you will now see your model in Pepakura designer but no textures FIX: go to Settings>texture settings and Specify Texture Image now find the file that you have converted with Dxtbmp and select that file. now you should see texture on your model :D

    Step twelve: On the top of Pepakura deisgner click the button: 'Unfold' to the right you will now see the pieces of the cutouts now just print and have fun :D.

    If you need directions on where each piece gets glued to right click the right side of Pepakura Designer and click Check corresponding face now when you move your cursor over the edges you will now see a red guide line.

    This concluds my tutorial on how to make starcraft 2 papercraft models.

    im wondering how do u make a starcraft 2 papercraft model? like how do u deisgn it http://eu.blizzard.com/_images/community/contests/alienware/hm/ss5.jpg here is an example which was submitted through a contest

    i have tried to use the asset models which were built in the game by useing that mpq unpacker and the m3 plugin for 3ds max then i exported the model into the formats in which the pepakura designer takes but i have encountered 2 problems: 1:the export of the 3ds max of the model has a sphere surrounding the model which makes viewing the model(in side of the sphere imposible) this is for the .3ds format version

    2:non of the working formats for pepakura deisgner exported by 3ds max has any texture(all other formats)

    can anyone please help :(?

    Ive just though up a new idea of a sc2 map

    Concept:Halo concept a player vs player map we all get 1 marine as "master chief" and the marine have multible abilites that includes grenade throwing, weapon switching, and vechicle entering

    and you can upgrade ur marine to like ghosts or mauders or any other terran bio unitws and call them the spartan armour :S

    the veihcles should be starcraft i.e the seige tanks as scorpions the helions as warthogs but there will be 3 variations to it one that shoots rockets one that is a machine gun and another one that doesnt shoot anything but is very speedy and high armoured banshees would be the hornets etc etc

    so your starting unit is a marine and it can "enter" a vehicle just like being loaded into a bunker and exit as he wishes and the maps should be remakes of halo maps etc etc the vehicles when noone is in them should be un contorlable but still destructable once entered you can claim that vehicle and you will be able to move it once you exit the vehicle you dont have control over it anymore and there will be teams of 8 players on each side and each one of them gets a marine to do w/e

    there can be ctf slayer death match etc etc like the original halo :O

    here the idea now i need people to make it 4 me lol
