    JackRCDF I've done a clean SC2 install on clean Windows installation, im sure there is no need to reinstall.

    For DDS there is a simple way - rightclick on the DDS in the tree and 'View File' it shows the entire image on a large window, then you can right click on the image and it gives you to save the image as .TGA without any '..*' appearing in the save menu. I also checked I save WAV files without any asterisks, the asterisk appears for M3 (i think M3 exports correctly from the previewer), OGG and DDS, files i.e m3..* dds..* ogg..*

    Console also shows them with * :/

    Alevice how to save it so?

    I entered the editor with Windows 7 x64 as until days ago I was with Vista x32 and when I try to export a file DDS M3 OGG or any, the file in the export Save As appears as .dds..* .m3..* .ogg..* and if I rename it to .dds it says invalid file name. I cant export anything from the Data editor as I get files with asterisk. Does anyone know why this is happening how to fix? It didnt happen on Vista 32bit and my system is fully compatible with x64 bit Win7

    Im mostly into melee so that's where rus will mostly go - ladder - so bigger competition on higher level. But everyone who plays SC2 seriously from rus is already on SC2 EU. So what's so bad about it? I would say all the posts about how bad it is are reasonless and prejudiced. Well I can speak Rus despite not being one, so far me and my team played vs rus, I dont see any problem. They are normal like everyone else... and blaming them on their language is like saying why some speak french or ger or Spanish. So many times in War3 I was seeing Deutsch ja jaja but lucikly I know that langauge too lol.

    In mapmaking you would see the same either they wont speak at all or only talk b-n friends, I find nothing scary about it :)

    I only wanted /stats, /o igw, /ignore, /w as we can't do anything in-game without them... and Show Losses

    Also ALL need bnet to be made so you can vote for new host if current AFK so that you dont wait 5-10 mins to start which is totally lame and of course - a way to be able to cancel if game counter starts so that you dont have to relog by ;logging out; but they did nothing for those ... again

    There where you see the maps list, select Category, Melee and you will see Xel Naga, Metalopolis and Shattered are played actively.

    posted a message on Pony racing fun map

    Hi, for all who like ponies or simply don't hate them. What do you guys think of the idea of making a Pony Racing map, in which the 6 ponies (could be more in the future) compete over several laps to reach the final. They would use their abilities to stop or slow the other ponies down, could find gadgets that also help them or ruin the opponents' attempts to finish first.

    Ther was a war3 map Azeroth Grand Prix, it had some of these motives with weapons and stuff, but in SC2 with the awesome terrain and just 6 pony models, you could make an awesome and fun map that I think will be enjoyed by many.

    The mechanics if Arrow system slows the game down, maybe there could be alternatives or not allow more than 8-10 players,

    Maybe an option similar to War3's Dota to change the terrain at game start or simply to be a large map with several terrains, Im just throwing ideas for what could be nice.

    I remember that Zealot texture you turned into knight armor some time ago back at the other site. Yeah CloudWolf, now making Diablo III in SC2 to 'scratch the itch know as the wait for Diablo III' ? If you made SC2: D3, Blizzard would feel threatened as with the sc2 grahpics you would make it really like D3, cause it was already good with war3 graphics, so Blizz would wanna close your map for pulling people from buying D3, if a sc2 d3 were made :P

    Err did you see the ZIP? 2 of the images are from the 3D game, and only the last one is from the cartoon. The above image is also from the 3D game but all data is in .Dat file, so obviously it was not meant to get access to any of the 3D models there. These screenshots from different sides are all I can get, for texture, some could be copy-pasted from the screenshots if suitable for textures, for animation it's nothing different than what I suggested, one could imagine how it would move.

    The one with channels? I didnt even understand it The one with RGBA and decomposing to Layers then recomposing is the easiest way. You should add that one with Layers, I think. All that I didn't do is the whole thing had to be made after making the blue normal map because from normal image it wouldn't turn into orange normal if it is not made normal blue at first. And GIMP has a plugin to turn into blue normal map.

    Ok back to my thread... so I learnt I had to Convert Edit Poly to Editable Mesh, seems that is why it exported M3 as only 2KB, it needs Editable Mesh to export with the correct size.

    I flipped the faces 1 by 1 to restore/fill the model. However, there are maybe tens of little triangles or even bigger parts that I do not see. So let me know if anyone knows a way to select all Hidden Backfaces (those that appear like holes in your model) so that you can select all hidden and flip them to ensure you don't miss any faces. Because 1 by 1 you will miss and won't see the many faces that are still hidden or hard to select.

    For 1) http://www.galaxywiki.net/Custom_Terrain_Textures#Normal_Mapping This says how to turn into Orange Map both with Photoshop and with GIMP (*more difficult) anyway wooho found it. Im so lame, with GIMP the Decompose method like Default_String explained it didnt work for me cause I firstly had to make the normal Blue map and from it make the decompose, not from the full color diffuse :)

    For 2) I just had to restart Map #1 and choose Bitman again, then after restarting for all 3 browsing the Specular, Normal, Diffuse in each of the field. I had to add material to Scene to make the M3 contain diffuse, normal and specular in its paths or if not added to Scene it will still use only 1 texture even if I select the specular and normal ones.
