Imagine this: Before all this drama user X writes a post "Hey, Battle Planets is great and all, but for reason Y it is not fitted to become MotW.", and I agree to this reason. Without any hesitation I continue supporting the project. But then you agree on using map Z which is already on page 1 or 2 (let's for the heck of it call it Income Wars), and I immediately resign.
Now the question for 100 points: Why? You don't have to agree with it, you just have to understand what I mean.

But regarding the bank files: Looking at the maps fanbase some people will be pissed when they can't use their hats and shit for a whole week. So not as many people might play the MotW edition of Mafia as you hope. Just something to keep in mind if you decide to choose Mafia.

Starting now with advertising would be 100% contraproductive. When we post a thread on team liquid, dozens of people will go online and check for Map of the Week. If we post it now, but upload it in a week or even later, nobody will care anymore. All the people who read Rodrigos thread on the battlenet forums already forgot about this.
And I can't believe you now come along with Mafia in your hands. If Mafia, which is an awesome map, get's Map of the Week, I'm done with this project.

I would vote for a no-argueing-rule regarding the map from now on, because it got chosen with overwhelming support and we now just have to settle on logistics.
Taco, as colors said, your arguments have been heard, but your actions slowly start to give the impression of bitter hating.
Again, I strongly advice to make Super Smash Planets the standard mode, as it is considered more fun by practically everyone and so newbies will get to see it first.
And xSun, what is this crap about Income Wars not being a valid map? Not only is it okay for the map that is chosen to already be popular, it is encouraged!

On a sidenote: While you have a point regarding the Rodrigo answer of the last poll, I think this is not rushed, it rather goes to slow. But I already said that.
After two polls that were largely in favor of Battle Planets, this one still comes even. Taco said somewhere that repeated polls are more accurate. He couldn't be more wrong. With your acts you clearly gave people the impression that you don't give a shit about their opinion as long as it does not fit yours, so of course less people vote this time.
You have pretty much two options now:
A) Take the community favorite Battle Planets as first map and hope that not too many supporters have been scared off this project.
B) Reveal that this was pseudo-democratic all along and choose another map, probably your own, and try to get it popular with less people.
And don't get me wrong, if somebody would have shown a super fitting map for the first week I would have been fine with it, but there were none that could could compete with BP. If you on the other hand choose a map that is already popular just to show that you can do it, this is pointless and a waste of my time. And ask yourself what you have prove with that...
