    Aye and there in lies the problem where the units are destroying themselves right after calling the next effect and breaking the chain. Either way, better definitions of what those references (target, inner, outer, caster, source & origin) actually refer to would be a huge benefit I think.

    Hrm, so in the chain of say a unit creates another unit by an effect who then creates another unit via an effect and so forth, source would be able to refer back to the absolute origin? That's what I'm going for here :) The downside to all these direct-fire projectiles is how difficult it is to declare the original unit that started the chain for things like applying the KillToCaster behavior and getting a proper kill count iteration.

    ED: Specifically my bouncing missiles which through hackery recreate themselves each time they meet a wall and bounce since I can't seem to influence the angle a mover goes in via any means outside of the mover's initial setup.

    Ressurecting this thread just to see if anyone has any better understanding of the various meanings of these terms. My reasons: I'm looking for a way to refer back to the ultimate creator of a chain of units and the effects they create, regardless of how many deep in iterations they became. But honestly I'd just really like to get a better understanding and definition of what these all are. Caster & target are pretty obvious but the rest...yah not quite so much.

    You'd need a way of tracking the angle that the unit was last ordered to move in and then whenever the unit is idle to initial another move command in that direction. I think you'd need to elaborate a little more on what the purpose of this is going to be before anyone could give you a definitive answer though.

    I've had quite a bit of experience in dealing with both youtube and the various companies that request the enforcements of these filters. My best advice is stay away from bands that are part of large labels who haven't yet realized the benefits of having the music heard through non-official channels. I've also found even some of those large labels enforce this policy differently then others. For instance when I tried using say a chunk of the 300 soundtrack that label nailed the video in a way that disabled sound entirely, meanwhile I used another song from Crystal Method...and that label just opted to stick a little 'this song is x by y and here's a link to it on the itunes store' and that was it (which I think is a great method). I've had the best success just steering clear of the mainstream though and going with songs by smaller bands that either genuinely want the exposure or frankly don't have the backing of such a label to push for their removals.

    Another is stick to bands that have embraced the 'free advertising is good', for instance I've never had a nine inch nails song be the cause of a video's muting. My best advice is before you become attached to using a song with a video just upload a raw video with the song playing and keep the video private, wait a bit and see what the filter does and based on that you'll know if it'll be okay or not. That or you can use some audio editing trickery to fool the filter but that is not something I'd like to discuss nor do I recommend that as a genuine solution. :P

    I also don't recommend using youtube's over dubbing method, you have 0 control over the audio channel at that point and can't sync anything or provide background noise in addition to the music. Unless of course one of those songs really does appeal, but even then I'd just acquire the song and integrate it into the video during the editing process instead of only after upload.

    I've used this before and it works, if you look in the effects chains of say the vulture or the infestor they apply an effect which applies the behavior and that pair of actions sets the 'caster' to be the originating unit. So for you you'd want to have some method of each unit that boards this transport to apply that same set of actions and then undo them whenever it disembarks. Now far as I know this handles kills, I haven't used it with tracking experience or anything else and do know it doesn't actually edit the 'killing unit' in an event unit dies, so its limited but it definitely did track kills back to the right unit for me.

    There's some grey area of 'fair use' where that 30 second concept comes from but yah its still Blizzard's call and indeed the consensus so far is they'd just rather avoid the whole thing and pull any maps that could potentially bring any such actions to their door.

    Unconstructive whining about a system that's been in place for less then half a day is...I actually lack the words to describe my sentiments towards this level of entitlement exept if I could perhaps ask you to imagine captain picard & chuck norris's love child placing their face in both palms with tommy lee jones frowning in the background over a newspaper. Also what the hell does the pop box and the recent posts box have to do with one another? I'm using the default layout and one's on the top left while the other's top right, they do not conflict at all.

    Update as trying to post: I also see you just realized enough to reduce the language of your initial post, yah I was wondering how long it'd take before it dawned on you that referring to the first efforts of a major project of site op as 'Epic Fail' isn't the wisest of plans. But yah holy crap, way to still bring out the spirit of 'everything needs to work how I envision it 100% the moment I lay eyes on it and if it doesn't I'm going to bitch like a child'...man kids these days.

    Keep up the work Vjeux, *most* of us appreciate your efforts and look forward to future progress on this and all site improvements in general.

    Tumors can only plant on creep, possibly? I think if you select 'ignore requirements' in that (No Options) section it'll work out for you though. Haven't tried but that's my first hunch any ways.
