Ah OK. I can duplicate those models and overwrite them. I don't need to make them work in the data editor so long as it works in the CE.

Apparently all the blood is black for me too. I need to figure this out. I've had blood be red before in my other video.

Oh OK. Maybe if I up some settings the blood will be the right color. It's black in-game for some reason.

So can you apply a pre-existing texture to the model and have it work?

Thanks again for all the help.

When you ran my scene, did you notice that the model of the marine turns black, the blood is black as well. The properties don't affect it at all. I'm looking at maybe forcing a texture on it in the data editor but I have so little experience with it. I don't know an easy way to go about this and I'm worried I'll have to do it for every death.

OK, so it actually works now.

On that note, any idea why the colors don't match? Is that normal?

Well that's both relieving and terrifying at the same time. Graphics settings seem a weird fix though.

So I am animating a zealot killing three marines. I replace the model with the Marine Death Eviscerate model and aside from some coloration discrepancies, it looks good.

Except when I run the map, I don't see any of the death models. For 2 of them I see black blood spraying, but that's it.

Anyone encounter this issue or have an idea on how to fix it?

Thanks. I'm starting to get a grasp on my limitations. It will help pick up the pace for animating.

I keep wanting to participate, but my own project have me far too busy. I plan on posting everything I do here though for everyone's review.

Any way to utilize them as assets that always face the camera? This would be useful for me.

OK so it's not a CE issue, it's an issue specific to the model I'm using.

Just in case anyone runs into this issue for any other models, I got around it by attaching another object to the wonky model. I used the apple.

I made turned the opacity to 0 for the apple to make it invisible, then attached the part I wanted to adjust to the apple. I could offset it properly there. There were some minor issues, but it can be resolved with patience and tweaking.

For the tank attack swivel, I've found that you need to attach another item to the tank first. I used the apple.

Make that Item invisible by setting the opacity to 0 in the properties window and then attach it to the tank bottom at the "center" point.

Then attach the tank turret to the apple and adjust the offset so that it looks right. From there you can animate each tank half separately.

There are kinks. Some of the animations don't work right. The wheels don't turn on the bottom half of the tank.

To get around this, just use the normal tank, then use a camera cut to hide the first model disappearing and bring in the "glued" tank.

Or, you can copy to location values, line them up, and hope you can perfect it so there isn't a little "skip". I've managed to get pretty close but the models have some very slight differences that I think makes it impossible. It's passable for my uses, but others might be more discerning.

I consider this issue solved for me.

    No problem :)

I appreciate the attempt to help. I'm trying to write down my problems and solutions as I encounter them here, hopefully it will help others in the future.

OK, that's not so bad. It would be really nice to be able to start someone at a specific node on the path, but we can always hope for future functionality.

Starting a unit at the end of a path and moving backwards, starting at an offset point on the path, etc.

No clue how to do them. I'm just going to make an opposite path for now, but I'd like to figure it out later. I'll post here with developments, hopefully someone has already looked into this.

    MCE?

And now I'm having problems where the attachment offset doesn't work properly when I press play. If i uncheck and recheck the turret it aligns properly, but if I start the animation from the beginning it doesn't work.
