been checkin out ur beta, and i have to say you can color me impressed
thing that really catches my eye is the updating on your abilities, they each improve by level and by skill, not only that but the tooltips reflect the changes!
since theres no way in hell any sane man would willingly give their pride and joy over to someone to autopsy and potentially clone it, i gotta ask u to atleast drop a tutorial or atleast a demo map of the process which fuels the whole thing
an optional helmet as an animation, kind of like the tank's seige mode

was also wondering what kind of animations are you doing for the harbinger?, kinda hoping you'd add weapon support for blades and guns in there as optional animations, so if one were to use it in an RPG map, it could be very versitile....... i think the Ghost's gun animations are the best, but i could be wrong, and Dark Templar own the blade department, though maybe the zealots could be copied aswell
oh yeah where is the team color of this unit? the purple spots or the brown? if there isn't any might i suggest glowy lines ? just a few lines running throughout the suit that glow bright, and maybe eye glow aswell
1 is it possible to create a Ghost with no weapons, glowing lines like the kerrigen model teamcolor, with the zealot's & dark templar slicing animation, a punch and kick, Hightemplar's floating animation as an alt
2 and a female to match?
3 also varios Zerg heads (to be used as attachments like helmets, but can be animated as weapons aswell) with glowing teamcolor eyes
4 Overseer or Overmind's eyeball with or without blinking animation
5 and, im not sure if this can be done via data editor or not (if it is, someone let me know) teamcolor 'cloak' (like how Tosh's cloak is red in the cinematics) for all of the above units and the Infested Terran Egg
6 several fully animated dogs (based off Lyote), a warglike cavewolf, a skinny greyhound, a poodle, and a robo-mutt (cookies for anyone who guesses where i got these)
1 of the above is enough, but ALL of the above would be grand!
RPG doesn't mean slow grindfest, u can make a swift, smooth fun game and still have a story, its all in presentation and pacings
my idea of an rpg would be a game u can save your data and keep all your stuff but your level, so the next time you play through its still a challenge but you kind of have a leg up, and so long as the story scenes dont pause and slow down everything, you can get through it quick fast and in a hurry
take prince of persia for instance, the game's constantly talking to you telling you whats going on in prince's head, without stopping you from running and jumping and slashing and hacking etc.
i dunno.... 2 TDs caught my eye in Warcraft..... Gem TD and YouTD

i think we've already began to experience the garbage people can make........ heres another tip for u guys, if ur game sucks, but u r gonna make it better, keep it private til then, get a few people together to test and add them to ur game privately
i know thats what im gonna do, who knows if my map will ever get out of the private stage? but atleast its not getting a bad rep as a half-assed game
atleast in warcraft 3 u could easily skim the list to find a DBZ Tribute or a Naruto Wars or whatever else strikes your fancy other then Dota
this list just drops these dumb games @ the top, and u have to keep on clicking show more to find something new
further more u can't name your game, so the only way to fill it with ur friends is to invite them directly, which, with the whole "auto-start" thing, can be difficult, u get no chance to boot people to give ur friends slots if they decide they wanna join at a point in time after you made the game public

my suggestion would be to take some time to check out the editor and maybe you might find some inspiration to start one yourself, and a few of these rpgs that you can find, dont bother with........ one on b.net labeled final fantasy, has nothing to do with anything remotely close to relating to final fantasy
btw, what type of RPG interests you? i dont think anyone's tackled a Suikoden style map yet for SC1 WC3 and SC2, i wonder if that'd be popular?
1st - when choosing an ability it brings your unit to a full stop, this really has to be changed, either use a new base ability that doesn't bring the unit to a stop, or figure out how to do it with the one already being used cuz its really a pain
2nd - saved statistics for future games, maybe adding something minor or just asthetical to ur unit, maybe and hdr glow or something
3rd - certain units, off the top of my head, tassadar, has an attack problem, sometimes when chasing a unit, he will just do a twitch instead of attacking when he comes in range, maybe it has something to do with his attack animation?

i want the doodad to fade completely when ur unit is near, i can think of a couple uses for that
