You're trying to start the AI for a player that was set to "user" control, not "computer" control (in the Player Properties window).
What I suggest you try is: make a new, separate player with computer control for each human player and then transfer control of the not playing human to the computer player. It should work ;]
I'm annoyed by arrays in any language. I started programing with PHP, which has dynamic arrays, and I really got used to that... and not having to declare every little variable at the start ;(
I think it's a waste of time. A basic terraining tutorial might have been nice when the game was released, but now everyone has either figured it out or learned it from this site.
It's like they gave us photoshop, without any manual or documentation, said "here, make some great graphics" and after six months they come back and give us a tutorial on how to use the brushes...
One new thing I learned is that the number keys can be used to switch between players when placing units :P
Now I though that they had a lead designer - Greg Canessa, who you might know as "that xbox live guy" or from (left side, short hair).
So, did they sack/demote him? Do they have multiple lead designers (or the guy had multiple roles/titles)? I don't try to understand their title system, but he's named as Lead Designer in a fewinterviews... so... basically...WTF?
I would have banned you too. You post contains absolutely nothing constructive in it. It's just a wall of text full of whine/rage, only it has paragraphs, proper spelling and no swearing (wow, that must have been a big effort for you). You also show some unnatural telepathic abilities, since you know exactly what blizzard is thinking and that they rushed their game (what a load of horse shit btw. They delay the game multiple times, spend 3 blizzcons talking about it, and you're calling it rushed?).
Why couldn't Blizz have told us they were indeed adding a change to the custom game system instead of just saying "were aware" and then suddenly release a PTR that blew everyone away.
Because then, people like Rodrigo and the OP would whine and rage about how they could do it better. Watch this video from blizzcon 2010 and how the guy behaves. It's what I'm talking about (also notice how the crowd reacts).
(it's at 2:55 in case it doesn't auto-skip to it)
A smartass troll who thinks he knows everything there is to know. I bet he could remake and improve WoW in 5 hours! 5 HOURS!

I'm not 100% certain about this.

Force yourself to do Top-down design or get ready for frustration and rewriting a lot of stuff :]

Not possible.

Things preventing me from just making maps:
Oh, did you mean things outside of mapping?

Go to: http://sc2.curse.com/downloads/sc2-maps/default.aspx and find your map, it has basic download statistics. I think only "release" maps are shown there.

What are those?! I've never ever seen them anywhere! I SWEAR!

Doesn't that apply to the whole data editor? :D

I made this silly thing while waiting for the EU servers to come back up (and to check if the 3min timeout is really not there :/).
The features are all in the picture:
Yes, I wasted time making an interface for something that could be done with the built-in calculator in windows :]

Mike Morhaime looks really tired in that interview :(

While watching Blizzard's 20th Anniversary video I checked out their jobs page and it turns out that Battle.net is in need of a Lead Designer...
Now I though that they had a lead designer - Greg Canessa, who you might know as "that xbox live guy" or from (left side, short hair).

Didn't Mephs tell mapster to fuck off or something like that? I doubt Smashcraft is going to be getting any attention :P
Anything I say about that remake is going to sound like "my remakes are better", so I'll just shut up :X
Oh, and front page stuff requires a video.

10.5 MB or 2 minutes :]

For reference: this is how a good and constructive post looks like.
