Check the array sizes? Need to be big enough for the number of players right? You can always do a UI-text Message to print out the triggering player in that trigger. If it's like -1 or 16 then there's definitely an issue lol.
Honestly I think we'll have to let the market decide, or if it's more constrained then let Blizzard decide. This is a very sensitive topic imo.
I'm all for paid maps; there are many Apple app store games that are MUCH worse than the maps we can play on bnet. BUT, those apps had to make their own art and sound. Not only that, they always have a single-player component (or most are single player).
For your map to be a paid map, I believe you'd have to accommodate a single player component OR be a multiplayer map with custom art. I mean if someone made an awesome and engrossing mini-campaign, but still set in SC2 with no custom art... yet everyone was raging how good it was etc... for sure I'd pay the $1.99 or w/e and go enjoy it.
Also, I do believe that having a smart phone will greatly broaden your knowledge on the subject. I knew nothing 2 years ago before I had my ipod/iphone... but once you have them you appreciate things and see new facets.
The other thing is that there isn't many 'big' entities working on maps because (as was said) there is no incentive other than "YAY PEOPLE ARE PLAYING MY MAP!". Take myself for instance: I've made something like 40 tutorial videos and tons of maps... all just because I love it, but if I could make maps that made money or be hired contractually to design maps... that'd be awesome.
It might also re-invigorate the mapping community. It's not secret the number of people here has dwindled. My own youtube channel has severely lost viewers since SC2's release.
Wish you joined sooner :D Would be good to have you around the site.
But yeah I'll come along. I'm onetwo.855 (north america), and an easier method for setting up the testing could be to just do an sc2mapster PM to everyone here (in a multi-user PM) and just send updates through that as well since it'll alert people. We might forget to check this thread.
If i read correctly, I think you need to hit ctrl+d for raw data, type in korhal building debris (without the _00), then leave variation count at 7 like you have. I believe this is how it works. Ie if you go look at the dark templar model, you'll see it has 2 variations but the name specified in the model field is actually not linked to either actual model, but the base name of both.
Well first, you might have noticed I removed up & coming because that's essentially the same thing (imo) as new & noteworthy.
But yeah don't take my mockup on such literal value. I just threw it together to highlight the room available for an active game lobby system. It is quite dense I'll agree, and could use some Apple-esque cleanliness.
Perhaps my scroll bars were a bit long, but I slightly disagree with your 1st and 3rd paragraph. Infact that's why everyone disliked Blizz's Arcade pic. It's funneling everyone into 8-10 maps and leaving no way other than fun-or-not (which is missing from their diagram) to play the other 100,000 maps. But I agree with you about 10-15 maps showing on queue box... scrollbar was just exaggerated lol.
I also do agree though that community splitting is bad. Hell, when Blizz added 'categories' that already split off a lot of people who never switch categories (in pre 1.3 list). On the one hand I like the way the Apple store did it, which they show 25 top apps then you can 'show more' to get the next 25... but with maps the issue is ALWAYS having an active lobby for it... something very different than ios/android app markets.
In the end, I think it's interesting to have what's hot, popularity, new & noteworthy, but as sort of 'side' boxes beside the main 'active game' list. That's what I was going for. But who knows how it would actually pan out.
I like the new Arcade setup aside from that it bottle necks even more (granted it's just a mockup)... but here I just photoshopped a mockup of their mockup that INCLUDES an active lobby system like war3. Feedback welcome.
And omfg that first question to the panel. Wow. Just Wow.
Do they screen the questions? Too bad no 'rebel' got in and asked if they're rethinking the structure of the campaign... as (I found) the last one didn't really engage, whether it was a sub-par story or non-linear (and slightly pointless) planet hopping. Just felt like "oh great now I have to go to this planet... okay finished missions, now onto this planet, okay finished missions, etc...". I think by making the structure more open the sacrificed a lot on a purposeful and sensible story that blows your mind.
Just my opinions though. I enjoyed the Zombie mission the most probably :D
Sort of vague but maybe your array size is too small for the number of players you have? or the array type? Can't really say without a screenshot of the error and the trigger/variable related to that error.

Awesome, good to hear!

A GOOD co-op zombie campaign.
A decent save/load RPG with PvP.
Some good TD's like War3 had.
Adventure/survival maps as well.. like darwin's island, sheep tag, resident evil, life of a peasant, wilderness survival, etc...
(Just throwing it all out there)

See my signature. It's amazing how google ads have made our brains filter out any writing that isn't in the body of conversations lol.

Did you set Builderboard to be 'last created leaderboard' when you made it?
If so, then I don't know and you can PM me the map and I'll look at it.

Wow haha. I wonder what your average joe america will think of this.. or just ignore it haha. Oh man.

Meh probably another Tower Defense with a twist.
