    Hello!

    I have a unit without any attack modes, but with an ability. I want it to try using that ability on a target upon right-clicking it (like normal units usually attack if you right-click an enemy unit). How would I do that?

    I'm about to playtest with friends and then release my map, and this is one of the last features I need to add, so instant help would be highly appreciated. :)

    Hello, dear mappers. Perhaps you can help me out with this minuscule issue? :)

    Is there a way to shove around neutral or enemy units? Like, an attribute which governs who can shove a unit around? Right now, if I have multiple non-attacking enemies follow my cowboy, he can get surrounded and unable to move. I'd like to prevent that. How?

    Hello!

    I am currently re-working the Domination ability. Instead of mind-controlling the target, it should make the target follow the caster (via Issue Order: Move). The caster and target must be connected via the Domination beam while the target is following, and the beam+behavior should break when the target pursues another order.

    That's my problem right now. How do I configure a validator to be valid while the target is still following (moving to) the caster? There's a "Unit Order" validator type, which I configured like this: Lasso validator

    But it's not doing anything. The ability makes the unit follow the caster, but when the following unit is ordered to do something else, the beam and Domination behavior remain on it. Help me please! :x

    I am modifying the original Domination ability in this testing phase, so I don't need to change things like that. The big problem I have is that I cannot find anything related to visuals in the Range actor. Right now the Domination range visuals show a ring of arrows around Nova herself, the spell being limited to that range, however I would like the spell to work like Fungal Growth; with the player seeing a large aura/circle/sprite and being able to choose where to cast the AoE spell.

    Any idea where I can change those details, bits and bobs?

    I seem to have partially managed it by changing the Domination ability's Effect to "Nova - Domination (Dummy)", an unused effect, and set the Area of that Dummy effect to 4 and made it apply the "Nova - Domination (Persistent)" effect. Works like a charm!

    However now I have the issue of the range display thingamajig still being the old Domination one. How could I change it to show the approximate area of effect, similar to the Odin's Barrage and the Infestor's Fungal Growth abilities? :x

    Hello, fellow mappers,

    could you perhaps tell me how to turn Nova's Domination spell into one that affects multiple targets in an area? It should mind-control all units in the targeted area and establish those weird Domination beam effects between the caster and all of the targets.

    What would I have to change? Actor properties? Effects? I have zero expertise in the area, and while useful, ProzaicMuze's tutorials on beams, actors and effects concentrate entirely on weapons, projectiles and dealing damage. :(

    I'm almost done with my map, all I need is a proper ability like this. Quick help would be highly appreciated! :V

    Aww, thanks for the effort nonetheless. :) I noticed that Nova's Domination skill is another good pre-fab for the intended beam effect, but I wish I knew how to change it to look like an actual rope...

    I have nothing set in concrete for the caster yet, but I suppose a Marine could be casting it. The leashed unit is supposed to be a Zergling. Do you need my map to work anything out?

    Basically, but I want it to keep at a certain distance from the caster. And I would like some kind of visual effect (a rope of beam or chain) to exist between the two, but I'm not sure how to pull it off!
