Yes that's possible, I made a critical strike ability some time ago. With some changes it's exactly what you are looking for.
Basicly you create a buff and set it's damage response to 1.
At Handled you set an aplly behavior effect, which then apllies the behavior to your target.
Oh, and don't forget to set the location to attacker at damage response.
I'd simply like to know how to edit what a building produces. For example:
Instead of a Barracks creating 1 Marine, let's say, I'd like it to produce a Marine and a Zergling.
This how-to may already be available on this site, however, I could not find it. If so, can someone direct me??
Thanks! -WhoJu
quite easy: open data editor. go to abilitys. find "Barracks - Train". dubble click "Ability - Info". dubble click "Train 01 | Train Marine | Marine". scrol down to the buttom. at Info Unit hit the green X to get a new entry and select the unit you want to add. close all open windows with OK. save, and it should work.
I would add 3 buffs to the academy
Core 1, 2 and 3.
you can also add actors to the buffs with different sized shield models.
one core gets destroyed -> remove one buff. you can use triggers for that.
do a behavior check at the academy after each removal. if all are removed you can change it's properties back to normal or whatever you like.
sorry it's quite late and iam too tired for more details... hope i could at least point you in the right direction :) good night
was sc2 running? yes? you have to close it first. however, once sc2 is started by the editor you do not need to close sc2 again and can use the test button as often as you like.
So, we're going to make a petition?
My map is curently (EU) on #5 (however I released a new version and deleted the old so the new one is somewhere on page 4-5 blizz version sucks)
However my sign is ensured...
im curently working on a RPG like map and want to create a AoE Taunt ablility with the data editor.
Actually there curently is a prebuild blizzard taunt ability... sadly it doesn't work.
So well, I just had a look at the forums here to look for a tutorial and also found one:
Well, you should include the map, because it says 1000 times more than pictures. However, your spawn wave trigger does not have an event. While this is no problem as long as you have an action (Run Trigger) in another trigger that runs that trigger. Which is not the case as far as i can see...

Yes thats possible. Simply use the "Fade in/out" trigger found at Cinematics.

Remove the behavior. Done. Edit: Don't know if it causes a bug ... you'll have to try it out...

first you have to make a unit group variable, where you have saved the unit group. well, i guess you did that already.
for the condition use a comparison: Unit Group - Unit in Unit Group.

ok, here we go, i did this quite some time ago for my damage increasing aura:
create a Behavior - Buff
go to Modification - Combat - Damge Deatlt (unscaled) enter the values you like. hit ok.
if you want it to be permanent set duration to -1.
if you want the buff to be hidden go to Flags.
you can set the maximum of buff stacks at maximum Stack count.
you can increase this buff via triggers (add behavior to unit from caster) and also via abilitys with an aplly behavior effect.
hope it helps

Hi everyone,
im curently working on a RPG like map and want to create a AoE Taunt ablility with the data editor. Actually there curently is a prebuild blizzard taunt ability... sadly it doesn't work. So well, I just had a look at the forums here to look for a tutorial and also found one:
http://forums.sc2mapster.com/development/tutorials/3169-video-data-unit-ability-ordering-another-unit-to-attack/#p3
However it doesn't help me very much, because it works like this: A points at B, C attacks B.
I need:
A does AoE effect, B (and all other enemy units around) attack A.
At least this shows me that it's not impossible.
I think the problem is somewhere in my Issue Order effect at the Player+, Target+ and/or Unit+ line.
Map is included
