    Hello.

    I want an effect (Blood target Impact) at the targeted unit to be played whenever that unit takes damage from my Bleeding damage effect. Which works fine... most of the time. But in about 1 of 10 cases I get an error message:

    WARNING: Model Cache ModelLink[BloodTargetImpact]; Failure to initialize.

    I didn't find anything in the forums about this error message, I hope someone can help me. If you need any more information please let me know.

    As fas as I know: No.

    Here is how you fix it (you might want to first test it with a new empty map):

    Attention! Any mistake might cause the loss of terrain texture information

    • Open the Data Editor and go to the Terain Texture Sets tab
    • Select a standrt texture set that is the closest to what you curently have.
    • Modefy this texture set so it matches your current one (try not to copy paste since you might copy the bug that is causing the black minimap)
    • When done go to Map -> Map - Textues
    • Select any standart Texture Set that is not your modefied one
    • Note the order of the textures (old and new) on a notepad or take a screenshot or what ever you like
    • Make sure you have a backup file
    • Apply the new texture set
    • Save & exit the editor, when done load your map again
    • Go to Map -> Map - Textues and select your modefied standart texture set that we created earlier
    • Take a look at your notepad/screenshot and set each texture to what it was replaced with
    • Apply the texture set
    • Save & exit the editor, when done load your map again
    • Use test document to see if it worked

    I had the same problem. It appears to hapen whenever you use a new terrain texture set that is not a standart one (Terrain texture sets that were dublicated or completly made from scratch. I was able to recreate this affect on a new empty map) You'll have to modefy and then use an existing one to solve it. You might also have to restart the editor to regenerate a new Minimap.tga.

    Thanks. Well, it's just a name. Like a Lava lamp, actually there is no lava in it... (I'm currently looking at one) How would you name a place when you can showcase your map(s)? I realy think that Marketplace is the best name, because what else? Map gallery? Map showcase? Map museum? Either of those without map in front of it? Do you like one of these or do you have a better name? I don't. Because a marketplace is just that, a place where you showcase your wares. The fact that you "trade" at a marketplace (goods for money) is in this case of marginal importance. What annoyed me was simply the fact that you sad, that you have to buy any map, which is simply not true. If you had sad that you have the option to charge for your map, I wouldn't be writing this now.

    I think that yes, maps that cost money will be regarded as higher quality. And I completely love the idea of letting map makers get some money for thier work. I dont like the idea of some 8 year old making a crap map, throwing up some fake screenshots, and charging 10 bucks.     As far as I know that would be in the hand of the mapmaker/team, IF the marketplace will be a place where you can buy/sell maps for money.

    ... We have like what? 105mb total mapspace? Who for gods sake uses that all?! I realy don't mind if they reduce that to 100mb and give us Server Banks ... I mean, how big is your banks folder? Mine is 2.1mb and that includes: The dialog designer (great tool) banks which alone take 1.4mb and all the campain banks which are 516kb. So yeah, of all the custom games I played, the banks take up about 200kb (61 files).

    I doubt that this is a one liner, maybe in galaxy but not with the GUI. Since I'm mostly using the GUI I might not be able to help you with that. But I'll see what I can do ....
