Empire Builder Rev

A city building game like SimCity or Anno with Military. Build your economy out of oil, farms, metal or taxing your people to support your military pursuit so that you may fend off that Native Zerg and their Queen.

What can You do in this map to survive?

Strategy, Deep Economy, Survival

Thanks goto Kenji, and Anteep.

Farms feed the population, houses for the population to tax them. We've sent you a little money to start with but in all things money does not grow on trees. Military will demand high wages, make sure you have the tax and food to support them even in battle.

As leader of a new colony, your goal is to build and stabalize your economy even under threat. The planet that you've chosen is hostile and does not like your presence but your not alone in this effort. The native creatures prove to expand quickly at times. Take out their expansions quickly, and work together with the other colonies or not.

AI Disabled are for those that want to figure their city build out

Learner lets you play a game where the natives don't expand.

Easy gives you a taste of what you may expect from AI on harder difficulties.

Normal and Up introduce the Ultralisks.

To clarify, I am not the original maker of this map. However I thank the original owners, and make the changes to this version than to the actual map itself to keep its originality untouched. Yes I've changed the descriptions a bit, to better attract and perhaps suit the map.

This game is not quite an exact copy of the official mod. Due to it going public, and Kenji letting me know it was there. I would like to thank Anteep the original maker of this map, and Kenji for keeping it up to par. ^_^ Other than that, this map is being updated regularly by yours truly. I have been fixing all the little things, and the further I get into this map the more I learn about it. I am impressed, and challenged so I am very much enjoying this and playing the map as I make the changes. ^_^ Remember, I am just giving this map a refreshment, I claim no true rights other then the work I have put into making the map far more appealing and challenging.

I want to ask you, the reader if you have played, these simple questions if you would be kind enough to give your opinion. :D

If you don't wish to Register feel free to email me at [email protected]

1: Did you enjoy this version, and what did you like or dislike about this map?

2: What difficulty do you normally play on? Whats the hardest difficulty you've played?

3: Do you PVP or do you play well with others? =P

4: I've been trying to improve the economy a bit so that it doesn't take an hour to get going. Do you like that idea, or do you prefer the games that take over an hour to sometimes 2hours?

5: What are your favorite units, and why?

6: Will you play this map again?

7: If you were able to change something, what would you change to improve the experience and why? (that isn't a bug in the map)

is this still about? cant find a version made by RedrumJackle perhaps a new unique name, or an increase in version number (just to make sure it's the updated one) is needed?

The one called "Empire Builder v5.1 Nesaya (Anteep version (fixed)) v1.0 is not working properly (invisible everything after an hour of play time)

Hello everyone. Your Developer for EB Rev has taken the map to another level.

I've thrown in another difficulty. Nightmare for those that find even Ultra Hard not hard enough.

I've Also Revamped quite a bit of the map. Terrain, Button configs, Units, Economy.

I've also made it so that vehicles and air hp and dmg scale just like infantry. So that you can choose a bit more freely. Lowered the costs of that.

Oil is now no longer such a rare commodity. You can make it mid-late game by drilling your own spots.

Not only have I made changes to everything involving the player. But I've made quite a large addition of changes to your enemy the Zerg. ^_^

For instance, now lower difficulty Queens should be easier to handle for first timers. Scales on difficulties higher than Normal.

Created new four new Additions to the Zerg army. Two of which are Nightmare Exclusive Only. The other two are the sneaky guys you never expected to be giving you a visit. Hopping from cliff to cliff now, there are Hydra and Zerg version Jumpers. Yes you read that right, Jumpers. Now keep in mind, these are exclusive only to Very Hard and up.

The two other Additions, you just have to survive Nightmare long enough to see the two new additions. ^_^ They're a treat, and its really not my fault if you die. You are playing on the HARDEST difficulty after all.

Terrain Changes have been made to the map. Best thing is Water has been removed to Lower Lag Issues! Yes thats right, Water was a leading Graphical Culprit to this map! Couldn't believe it myself. With this success lag has been reduced greatly, but I never said this map is lag free.

Tips for relieving Lag: Big groups of players playing this map, if your all running 300+ buildings, and 300+ units and the Zerg decides to spawn 200+ you do the math on what your computer can handle. Solutions: Lower the amount of idle/free/unbunkered units on the map. Kill all Hives that are outside the nest. The more hives, the more Zerg.

Want more Challenge Solution: Leave Evolution Chambers alone, and Spawn Pools if you want all the zerg units to unlock and spawn sooner instead of later on. Note that every Chamber adds an upgrade sooner or later. The more on the field, the more it stacks and the faster it stacks. So be aware you can be out classed within a matter of time.

Hey VasVadum I hope you give the map a try, and That is quite interesting that you would like us both to work on the same project. I would love to. But I've been planning on making a new map all together, similar to doomed earth and this one. Perhaps I'll ask Kenji and Anteep to possibly be my partners in helping create the map. :D

I'd love to hear your way of getting people to give feedback easier.

I haven't ever played your map. :P Maybe I'll try it later if I remember. But can answer 7 at least.

If I were to change something, it'd be having you and Kenji work together on a single map rather than split off and make 2 versions. :P 2 people can do more work than one, especially when both are often busy. It gives the map a little more time being edited by one of you when the other is busy and you can both fix problems as they arise and such. If you go look at his map, you'll see I posted many suggestions. But most of them are to complex for one man to easily solve on their own.

By the way, I can help you with one little thing here later too. A better way for your users to give feedback. Hopefully I'll remember. Bed time for me, it's 6:30AM. lol

Well College didn't work out, as it wasn't the right program. Was talking to the teacher during orientation of the class and well its not what I wanted to do. XD So I'm not in college yet. Have to find the right college.

So you know what that means?! I am BACK! and map editing once again.

Goldfish if your around, feel free to add me or hit me up on SC2 and I'll play a game or a few with you. :D

    @Goldfish15: Go

I'm glad you love it. I haven't been on lately because I've been working a full time job demanding some OT from me as well. But the biggest kicker is I'm in college now, so its even tougher to set aside time to get back into star craft at the moment. It should not keep me away from SC2 and this awesome map.

Thats great that your on hard, believe me after I've ramped up the Ultra Hard it can be a bit of a kicker if you dont keep up.

PVE is my preferred playing style, I'm not one for pvp and never have been.

Unfortunately the slow start is unavoidable as you need to build up like your in simcity. starting small and building up as you progress.

Awesome choices, but the question is do you feel like they're a bit OP?

Glad to hear you'll be playing regularly, perhaps one of these days we'll be in the same game. :D

The feature that you suggested is out of my reach at the moment. As automatic transfers much like the market that already exists, will only further tax the games frame rate as its forcing the game to do even more work. End result, if you are feeding your resources as you get them each 10s lag spikes will happen as that resource is checked, then resent, and recieved by the new owner. Its a great idea, but SC2 would unfortunately not cooperate to much with this.

Thanks for the heads up on the HD housing, but I'm unsure if you mean the power grid or the power needed for population to live in them.

Thank you, and I hope to hear more.
