For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how to detach a unit from a region without deleting the unit or the region... I just want to move the unit and attach it to the region it moves to, but I don't want it to also be attached to its original region.
In a large majority of cases it actually not necessary to have preplaced region attached to a unit. If you need a get a coordinate from within a region around a unit there is a function for that to definite an area similar to a region without having to generate it. This will help alot so that you do not need to remove regions and can swap the unit at will or not even have it preplaced to begin with.
