I'm trying to have an effect occur on the Defending unit when it takes fatal damage. There seems to be an odd side effect, however, of that effect being created on both the defending and attacking units. The Location parameter is set to "Defender." Am I doing it wrong?
EDIT: The effect set under "Handled" is a damage effect with a value of "0," everything else is default.
this seems more like a data question, but i'll give you a trigger answer. event: any unit takes fatal damage actions: create an effect on the triggering unit from unit.
In any case, I figured out my problem. The effect was set to "target" which apparently causes problems with damage reaction. So I changed it to "source" and all works fine.
