Theres some really good planet models out there, like here, but I was wondering if its possible to allow buildings or units to walk on them. I saw a while ago someone had what looked like a rotating disc doodad with units walking on it so thought something similar might be achievable. Spinning disc
It would be a hemisphere so units wouldn't be walking underneath it or anything.
I doubt it's possible to make a spherical planet because of how height works. If the coordinate system in SC2 was polar instead of cartesian, this would be very easy though. See the problem is, I do not think the ground can occupy 2 different z coordinates at the same x,y coordinate. A sphere would violate this.
Hi, hopefully this is the right forum.

Thanks for any help
- Create an hemispherical terrain using the heigh tool.
- Hide the terrain.
- Place your doodad.
If you want the planet to move or rotate, then you have to use triggers to move all the units placed on the planet.
Thanks for the reply.
Yeah thinking about it thats not going to work for buildings so it will probably be best to keep it flat.

I agree thats why I asked about hemispheres :) I have seen some people manage units walking under bridges though.
