By 'remove terrain' what do you mean? Do you mean you want to flatten it all out? Or actually delete the terrain so there's nothing for units to stand on. If you just want to flatten it out, use the "same level" tool in the terrain editor and paint over the entire map.

Depending on how you want to do this. If you mean island as in with water, you can just lower the terrain using the lower terrain setting and then add water around the coast of the island
or if your wanting a space platform, you use lower cliff and it just drops down into infinity and beyond. It really comes down to what way your going.
Lower Cliff tool should be all that's needed to turn the Scrap Station bottom expansions into island. Well, and deletion of the destructable rocks I guess - or they'd probably end up floating in mid air. If you can't manage, we're going to need more than "but it does stuff I don't want it to do!". Go into more detail, give us a screenie or two.

I'm trying to remove some terrain on an existing map, and can't seem to find a straight forward way to do it.
Searching this site has not given me a straight forward answer!
Does it really have to be so hard, even for an absolute beginner?

I just want to completely remove sections of terrain to make an island map.

The video was of no help......... I'm trying to make expansions(other than the naturals) on Scrap Station into islands.
