picking up doesnt need time if the item is at the position of the unit, it happens basically instant and the user also doesnt notice, i used this for a long time
there are 2 ways of moving items from one unit to another:
1: recreate the item inside the inventory of the target unit (needs only unit type and charges, the tricky part)
2: move the item to the position of the target unit and then issue order the target unit to pick it up (issue 2 times so it wont fail, issue order with inventory ability, the pickup order needs a button in order to work)
omfg we are so screwed, didnt know that it is THAT worse with heroes (no1 is really interested in it except , prolly , us)
There is only one way blizz might attract alot of ppl, a shared arcade :D. i dunno about dota2 or LoL custom maps but this could be really THE way. once you are pissed of Heroes you just play a custom, one of the many great ones out there (and which can be actually found by any1 looking for a certain map until then, hopefully)
Besides that, I think most questions were about other assets and models outside of Warcraft III and to that I can say there hasn't been any thought or talk about them. This is strictly about integrating assets from Warcraft III.
they will only bring the models, not the abilities and other data stuff, i think even without actors or data model, just the raw file. everything else is unneccessary and a waste of time.
will the models of other games follow?
will we be able to use depencies of expansion we didnt buy yet? (makes no sense to have a free arcade with all expansions but as mapmaker not)
awesome idea but somehow 4 years too late (better late than never?) + i still dont have access to hots assets (didnt buy it) inside editor which i dont understand

there will be no data, there will be only files, you wont add the mod and just have all units, you have to create all the data yourself
