The creator of hero attack, IIequalseipi, had a similar problem, making creep that only buffed allied zerg units. He gave the creep tumors and other sources an aura that gave *allies on creep* extra regeneration and movement speed. Since the effect was from the tumor's aura, rather than the units, it acted as though it was team-controled. By validating for creep before applying the effect, it *checked* for creep spread.
