Something I just heard was that Congress is considering passing Bill S.978. What this bill aims to do is make it illegal to stream, post videos, etc. of copyrighted material on the internet. Congress this that this is good because it should stop people from putting movies, shows, songs, and music videos on the internet without the owner's permission. That would theoretically help the owner's of the copyrighted material to make more money off of commercials and that stuff. However, this bill would also make it a felony to stream or post videos of video games on the internet which is just downright retarded. In my opinion, this bill should either never be passed in its current state OR be reworded to allow for video game footage to be on the internet. I'd like to hear what you guys think about this and how it would affect the internet and gaming community.
P.S. I'm not sure how this could even be passed as it would be assuming that the U.S. government has control over the entire internet...

I'm not so sure about the "bright" part...
There are certainly some less than intelligent politicians these days.

Alas, this is 100% correct...

I certainly don't think it will pass in its current state, but it is possible.

It's probably not too easy for everything like YouTube to just move to another country...

That could probably cause some complications...
