I'm kind of on the fence about Map Protection. On one hand, being able to see how an author did something is great for people to learn and understand... On the other hand, it allows people to steal some maps and call it their own very easily.
When Map Publishing is implemented in GalaxyEdit in a future patch, it'll include a protection feature.
I believe the Map Protection feature will be a function you can set yourself, you don't have to protect your map if you don't want to.
