Glad you liked it. Yes, there will be more boss battles, primarily in AS10. They'll bit a bit different, though. You'll have more durability, more abilities, etc. You'll be able to fight back in a larger scale.
The music in the boss fight versus Phantom Locust is "" from MGS: Twin Snakes. I'll update the music section (I'll also include the tracks from AS07 AS08 and AS09, even though those missions aren't out yet). The tracks are listed chronologically.
I don't think it will be too demanding. It's more lagging for cinematics, actually, but that's because of the camera angles. If you go from bird's view to grunt's view, it's more demanding. That being said: I haven't tested the gameplay yet.
EDIT: The map played wonderfully, both aesthetically and gameplay-wise.
AS07 is nearing its completion. Here are some early teasers for AS08:
EDIT: By the way, I was wondering if I should consider one of my maps for the Arcade contest. Could be fun. Problem is, they're all part of a whole. A mission like AS06 (the stealth map with the bosses) could be fun, but there's 15 missions preceding it. On the other hand, something like CM01 would do away with that, but again, it's still part of a whole...
A little update: Testing has begun for AS07. Lots of changes have been made since the first draft, and the testers have proved invaluable so far. Been really struggling with the balance, and they're as patience and as constructive as I could have hoped for.
Work on mission 08 will begin shortly. AS09 is actually almost finished, and the ending cinematic is the best cinematic I have ever done. It has action, cool use of fog, great music, and an emotional hook that will leave you drained! I dare anyone to create something to rival it!

I really enjoyed getting back on this project. Map-making is so fun. :) I gotta ask you guys, though: Anything special you would like to see in the final boss battles? Work on AS10 won't begin until I've finished 08/09, so there's room to get some ideas in. Be creative, though!
Continued work today. It's mostly terrain yet, but I'm getting there. Trying for a bit more open map than usual (Mar Sara is a cool tileset to work with, which is always inspiring). I also need to figure out how to work the Gorgon Battlecruisers, as they will feature prominently. Need to find out how to get them out of the docking bay, to be specific.
The mission is called "Desert Dogs", and I hope to finish it in two-three weeks or something (hard to make an estimate after such a long pause). Then I'll start working on mission 8, "The Pragmatist". Both 7 and 8 are new concept missions. New objectives, new story. After that, it's climax time with mission 9 and 10, the first called "Assassins in the Fog", which will feature what I hope to be one of the more memorable moments of the campaign, and finally the ending, "Back to Square One" which is planned to be e-p-i-c, with several boss fights to end this thing.
That first sentence....I almost cried!! If you haven't played Amber Sun or Crimson Moon, then you haven't lived!! :) Well...maybe that is a little strong, but its fun.
Haha.
I played some of the missions again just now, and had forgotten a lot of the details, so it was like playing them for the first time again. It got me thrilled enough to want to finish this thing. Don't expect the same tempo, though.
Although the ending(s) are set in stone, the path there might be different than what I originally planned. So no zerg interior mission, or Ryan soloing in the air. I have some more... interesting solutions coming up though.
Cool to hear that, OutsiderXE. I still haven't done anymore on this thing. Taking school really seriously. I hope to finish it today, though I fear some of my skills may have vanished somewhat. I had such a great ending mission planned too!
Update: I'm putting Amber Sun on hold for the time being. I just want to focus on school, and I'm afraid of the time AS will consume if I return to it. Hopefully I'll finish it someday.

I don't know, but I hope to be extended the same courtesy, and not just to inflate my own ego, as I hope to have a larger campaign scene.
The first draft of the terrain is finished. Most of the doodads still need to be filled in, though. Here's a little tease:
Is that how they do it in the mission? I know the Loki has a take-off function, but the Gorgon doesn't. I need to do some research.
EDIT: Doesn't seem to be too hard.
Oh, there will be blood.

It's official. Work on Amber Sun has been resumed! This feels good!

I have decided to cancel Amber Sun. Nah, just kidding. I hope to resume work on it shortly, maybe already in the weekend.
