Maity tested things today, looks like we're still mostly good. I will try and poke him over the next few weeks to see if we can push out that alpha, at least.
I talked about it with Maity. He said we wouldn't need to replace Zelda in any situation; if need be, he can take on Zelda's tasks - he knows what to do, it's more that he doesn't know Zelda's system for triggers. But then neither would someone new.
I've been a bit busy lately, but if I have time I'll try and keep poking him to see if we can give it another go. Assuming the patches that have come out in the meantime haven't broken the entire map.
I'm not sure if we would just let someone take over from Zelda (we'd have to discuss this with the three of us), but either way, I'm pretty sure we use HotS dependencies all over the board. Like... half the Starmon use HotS models. Don't think we could really work around that. I'll bring the point up again if I get a chance though.
At the moment, Zelda seems to be the main bottleneck: as far as I know he's practically quit mapping and I believe he's in college without access to his desktop. The patches that have come out broke some stuff, and it's mainly the stuff he'd need to fix. Maity's part is mostly done, and the terrain hasn't changed.
The project isn't completely dead just quite yet. I've been pushing to get the alpha out at least, occasionally - I may continue doing so. The main issue is that I have absolutely no idea what Zeldarules is up to; I haven't seen him in ages.
Terrain wise we're practically ready for alpha, have been for a while (even though there's plenty I can work on). Data and trigger-wise, I have no idea where we're at. Maity is my link to Zelda (PUNS OF DAMAGE) as I don't usually talk to him directly, but neither of them seem to have bothered with the editor much lately. Shamefully. I would've loved to at least push out the alpha so people could at least play with stuff.
Don't worry about it Soul, it's not like we've been sitting here twidling our thumbs waiting for your models =P. The Beach is workable as is and the doodads will come when they will.
Terrainwise, one little village and finishing the Beach. The latter isn't possible yet though - I'm waiting for some custom made models Soulfilcher promised us there. Once I get those, I'm looking at a 2 hour job at most. I'm not sure about Maity, but I think Zelda has the most work to do, having to fix 2v2, updating the quests and finalizing a bunch of features.
Hey DaFunk, we've been running out of steam slightly lately; I'm not sure what Zelda's been up to, but I think Maity's been doing some school stuff and I've been busy developing another game on a team I work for - I headed out to the London Eurogamer Expo to market it. We haven't forgotten though: terrain-wise we're nearly good to go for alpha, so once I fix that up one of these days you'll just be waiting for Zelda and Maity.

We're in a more or less constant state of 'eh'.

*Raises staff and cackles maniacally*
Zelda, Maity, arise. We're going to get this map into alpha. I feel like terraining again.

As long as there's rocks, I'll be happy.
Hey! I'm right here! T_T
We could, but it'll always be better if we have more people looking at it, no doubt about it.

I should note that the umbrella's actually have colours in-game.
Nice pictures ZR; I'm amazed you made everything look so well... generally you're only supposed to look at the terrain from the standard camera angle.
