It inspired me to try and redo this awesome game of a great sci-fi.
This is my attempt to remake Westwood's Emperor Battle for Dune on the SC2 engine. I am using unit stats from guides online, and personal gameplay experience to try and make it as similar to the original as possible.
This mod is still in early development. But I wanted to get some feedback on whether I should go on with it or not.
I've started with the house Atreides, and will later move on to the other houses.I've also done a harvester/carryall system and a rudimentary Worm A.I.
The problem I'm having most trouble with is making the units similar to those of the original game. I'm trying my best, but a objective critic from someone else would be really helpful.
If anyone would like to test the map with me please give me a pm :)
I've received a couple of PMs asking me to change it to be playable multiplayer. So I removed all extra things, and added victory conditions. Also since I'm updated, I've added a couple of units. The APC and the Machine gun post.
Also I've published it on EU server under the name PredaN00b's Dune Mod
Now that I have a decent version up and running I probably won't upload any new version until I get a lot more things done (unless asked to ^_^)
Enjoy :)
Edit: My mistake, I uploaded the wrong version of the map which had bad victory conditions. Reuploaded right version..
Also I've changed the map's name for copyright reasons.

Most people are too lazy to just download anything you throw at them without a "prooper" introduction.
So i recommend you put up some pictures and/or some videos with your project to buff people's interest.
@malu05:
The problem is pictures won't tell much as I'm still using the normal models.. And videos are not an option with my connection, I need 10 tries just to upload my map... But I will try to do something and post it here.
@Sephiex:
Any name suggestions? :S
I've also published the map publicly on EU server for multiplayer testing under the same name as here: PredaN00b's Dune Mod V0.3
(I know it's far from ready, but I want to see how much people think the units I made resembles the original so I know what area to focus on in the map) So if you have some free time give me a PM ^_^
And of course this time you will find below a detailed description of the map ( unlike before :D )
Oh and thank you RileyStarcraft for helping me with the sonic tank. I copied the red circles because they were a nice effect :D
Soldiers
==== Atreides Infantry ====
The general infantry. Dangerous in large numbers, but quite vulnerable to being squished by tanks. Very weak attack against structures and harvesters.
The sonic tank isn't as armored as the Minotaurus, however it's attack is much deadlier, damaging all enemies in a straight line. It can attack only ground targets. It's weakness is it's slow movement speed and it's slow turn rate, making it an easy target for fast units.
Great for striking against units without anti-air capabilities. The ornithopter is weak against most kinds of damage, especially if landed. It also has a limited ammo supply (10) than needs to be refiiled near a landing pad.
After my Z mod was shot down I kinda ran out of ideas of what I should try to do next. Until I saw this thread

If you plan on uploading this to Battle.net then you'll have to change some names, otherwise it'd be obvious copyright infringement.
Since college started I haven't had much time to continue with this project, so it's been going real slow. However I changed a lot of things since the first version, and I've added some new units.
Here is the link to the new version:
