Well generally speaking YES such a map would be pretty awesome.
Technically, however, you'll have quite a bit of work in front of you.
If it's going to be a multiplayer map you should keep in mind that there'll be quite some delay.
Also, the shooting system will be very problematic since you can't easily get the mouse position (I think this game is played with using the mouse to look around?).
So before you start with the real games you should see if you can conveniently get rid of this problem :)
Anyway, if you manage to recreate it well this is going to be the best map of its kind for quite some while I would say.
Any events that are detected by key presses or mouse clicks will cause delay.
Also...the ricochet and bullet effects in that video are the exact same ones from a game called Tribes. I suppose they happened to use the same source for their sounds.
Why couldn't you make wasd hotkeys for abilities that move you left and/or right, and spacebar a hotkey that makes you jump? Just curious. Does it manage to perform even worse?

hey guys,
I played around with the idea to remake this nice old game in SC2:
(btw. I made these videos)
Would you like to see this map?
Shall it be an 1 player or 2 player co-op map?
Give me your opinions please! :)
I would use the same movement and cam system, weapons etc.
