If you go to Terrain Texture Sets in the Data Editor, pick the object for the tileset you are using, there is a "Creep Texture" field that allows you to give creep any texture you want.
As an extension of the question from the OP, is there a way to make 2 different colors of creep to be used by say different zerg players in a single map?
What I'm thinking of is having a game where two teams battle for map position with creep and want to make a way so one team spawns one color of creep and the other team spawns another. Along the same vein, can behaviors be attached to creep like perhaps a Damage over time or Healing aura if you're on ally or enemy creep? I haven't dug around for that yet but I'm sure I'll get stuck on it soon.

I don't think you can make them differently colored. As Dinadan said there is just one Creep Texture, not one for each player.
You can, however, make behaviors dependend on Creep. Look at the Zerg Buildings - they bleed and lose HP when they're not on creep. And I think Broodlings and larvae die or take damage when not on creep.
you could try just loading in a different texture maybe, take original creep pic open it in photoshop then change the hue or lighting then import it back into the editor.
Are you sure about this? I am 100% percent sure that i had it so that a Drone could only build buildings on creep "owned" by the player controling the drone. I don't know how i got it to work that way (it was unintendet and somehow i managed to remove it although i don't know how). It was not possible to build on creep owned by enemy or even allied players. I think maybe it had something to do with footprints so maybe this doesn't help the OP.
Also, i think there were plans by Blizzard to make creep damage enemy buildings, but they removed it during alpha. Maybe the code is still in the game?
Is there anyway to modify the color of creep for your map? I want to make a dark black creep.
@Etravex: Go

there is also some creep visual values in the lighting editor. to make it 'glow' or otherthings.

There is no allied creep or enemy creep though.
Just creep or not to creep - that's the question.
