I got bored so I started making a simple tank game. Where one player drives the tank around, and the other person controls the turret and shoots down the other tanks. It doesn't matter much, but how would you make the tank turret face the direction that the player(one controlling the turret.) is looking?
unfortunately the localizer isnt working for me so could you copy the triggers or just explain the basic idea?
Allow the tank to fire while moving (turret settings, under the turret tab). Make an invisible unit in the data editor - just give it a nonexistant model. Make a trigger that moves the unit based on the position of the tank and the yaw of the player's camera. Make the owner of the invisible unit an enemy of the player so that the tank constantly tries to attack it.
There you have it. Move your mouse, turn your turret.
