In some of latest patches I found Diablo 3 themed decals, that includes Diablo himself decal and 5 classes, that are available in Diablo 3. Maybe they will add those decals for Collectors Edition owners, but using Teliko's information about resource editing and "Stronger team color" way of installing mod, I've decided to create a very small mod, that replaces 3 basic decals with 3 new, Diablo 3 themed.
Now you do not need to edit ingame resources, just out downloaded file into destinated directory!
One issue is that other players will not see those decals, instead, they will see basic decals, that game uses (i.e. Protoss/Terran/Zerg basic decals). And another issue, that if they have basic decals, you will see diablo-decals instead. In other word, everyone with those basic decals after installing mod will see diablo-themed decals.
Installation is very easy. Just prefer, what decals you want (folders will say you, where you can find Diablo/Barbarian/DaemonHunter decals or Monk/WhitchDoctor/Wizard ones)
1) Download http:www.multiupload.nl/FK97B1XICF
2) Open archive and select, what decals you want. In first folder you can find xxXX.sc2assets, that replaces basic decals to Diablo/Barbarian/DaemonHunter decals, second folder replaces basics to Monk/WhitchDoctor/Wizard)
3) Rename xxXX.sc2assets to your localization. enGB, ruRU, enUS, koKR, etc
4) Put renamed file to StarCraft II/Mods/LibertyMulti.sc2mod/..here..
5) Launch game, change your decal to basic and then start ingame match! In rewards menu you will see basic decal, but ingame it will be new.
4) If you already installed this mod, or you have Stronger team color mod, or any other mod, installed via created xxXX.sc2assets, then open that existing xxXX.sc2assets, open downloaded .sc2assets-file and move new texture files from it to old xxXX.sc2assets file. Just drag and drop between two opened MPQ-files. Not hard, do it, like you moving files between two Windows.
Another small customization relates to Zerg creep. In StarCraft 1 it was purple, in SC2 we got grey creep (on some maps it becomes red-brown, depending on light). In SC2: Heart of the Swarm we can see, that the creep is darker, than current WoL creep.
Zerg creep in StarCraft: BroodWar
New Zerg creep mechanic in SC2:HotS and it's difference from current WoL creep. Darker and cooler
Because we can customize zerg creep too, I've decided to create some variations of current creep. First one is more purple and a bit darker. Second, called "dark creep", is closer to HotS creep, and the third one, new variant from me, is fully grey, but with orange effects on it. If you want, post requests here and I can create other creep designs. It's not that hard.
Installing instructions:
1) Select, what creep style you prefer most.
2) Download it, rename downloaded file to enGB, ruRU, enUS, koKR, etc, depending on your game localization
3) Put renamed file to StarCraft II/Mods/LibertyMulti.sc2mod/..here..
4) If you already installed custom decals, or you have Stronger team color mod, or any other mod, installed via created xxXX.sc2assets, then open that existing xxXX.sc2assets, open downloaded .sc2assets-file and move new texture files from it to old xxXX.sc2assets file.
