I'll also give you guys another hint when picking characters when you don't know who to pick. 1st, check my post and see if one of the classes applies to you. Or, you can cross off classes that you don't want to play one at a time. Finally, you'll end up with a choice between 2. Pick one, or tie it, so that you can finally say you've ACTUALLY answered Wakeman's question.
Ok...I believe I have to say this...I have no choice...
...WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PPL!!! YOU HAVEN'T EVEN PLAYED THE DEMON HUNTER SO HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY KNOW WHAT'S BAD ABOUT THE DEMON HUNTER!!! THE DEMON HUNTER WAS PUT IN TO REPLACE THE AMAZON AND TO CREATE A MORE EPIC AND POWERFUL CLASS!!! Now that I'm done being an idiot, I'll tell you why there is a demon hunter and not a rogue/amazon/assassin/ranger/archer and why it's replaced by the Demon Hunter. The Demon Hunter will always be an Amazon, Rogue, Assassin, Ranger, Archer, and Demon Hunter because they're all the same class. The Demon Hunter was the best choice of name. The style of gameplay was what Blizzard saw was missing. The barbarian can't fire EVEN 1 crossbow bolt and hit EVEN if he had 10 bolts and had all the time in the world. The Monk may be fast, but does he have the accuracy the Demon Hunter has? The Wizard can burn through almost any army, but can she kill a line of troops with 1 shot? The Witch doctor can hold off an army with just a few mongrels, but can he kill them all on his own? And with 100 knives? The Demon Hunter is there for a reason. The Demon Hunter has things that other heroes didn't have. The Demon Hunter has deadly accuracy, a thousand secret tools that nobody else has, traps that can kills anyone who gets close, and much much more that even I don't know about! So quit complaining, because I may have to try the Demon Hunter 2nd!
One explanation is some people are still too pre-occupied by the image of the Demon Hunter in War3 and believe that a character called Demon Hunter should be something muscular dual-wielding Warglaives, and anything other than that is unacceptable.
While the fundamental cause of this funny prejudice is due to Blizz naming team was being lazy and used an old name for a quite different character in a different game, you guys should throw away the old War3 muscular Demon Hunter in your mind and you will find that the D3 agile Demon Hunter is actually quite cool.
My issue with the demon hunter is she just doesn't seem fast enough for my play style. Too much delayed gratification. When i'm playing i like to be able to unload asap and keep the momentum going, fury barb is perfect for this.
It's just a matter of taste, some people like to sneek around, set up traps and such, that's perfectly fine too.
I never said I did...actually...I hate it...I'm just saying that it's not such a "BAD" character...like you all seem to say. I just hate criticism.
We're not saying it's a BAD character. I'm sure she will stand her ground against all other classes.
But her style is different. A lot of people, me included, just don't like the choice of weaponry.
Honestly, how can we decide now what character we're going to chose? Only depending on their appearance, style and the little bit of gameplay we've seen. And since the gameplay will surely change over the years of development, their appearance and general style are basically the only things we can gear to.

Muscular? The DH was, I think, the fastest hero out of all! He could even catch up to all the riders. He's got evasion as a skill and Mana Burn isn't exactly what you can call a muscular ability. And his main attribute is agility :3

You totally missed my point. Maybe I shouldn't use the word "muscular" but that is not the key point anyway. The point is some people here are adhere to the belief that Demon Hunter = Illidan or something similar and cannot accept anything different.
Love how you assume that you know what people want and why they think like that.
From all things iv seen in gameming. That demon hunter in diablo 3 looks more like roque or assasin than a demon hunter. And I do not personally like rogues...
There are tons of other ways they could have gone if they wanted the charrecter to look like the name. I would see something like Dante, Ruy hayabusa or Nero as a true demon hunter. Not just a lame ass double crossbow (and I would prefer 1 bow instead of dual crossbows).

I admit that I was expecting something similar to the Demon Hunters of Warcraft whenever I heard that Demon Hunter was the last announced class. I'll also admit I was disappointed to see it was just a ranged dual-crossbow class with traps. Not that the lore shouldn't be different between Warcraft and Diablo, but they could've at least given the class a less...misleading name.
Maybe the ability to wield dual crossbows is a skill or something?
Ive never been fond of the rogue or "strike from the shadows type" of class either, but We dont know all the skills, So I think the class could turn out pretty cool perhaps.
Do we know what the male version looks like?. I haven`t seen it.
The demon hunter looks a little like... Van Hellsing kinda demon hunter, with the 1600's out fit, the guns, the hat. Yeah kinda classy if you ask me.
Kinda hard to pick apart the classes, yet. But go on a head and speak your "theory craft", I generally pay no heed to that sort of non-sense.
If you ask me the demon hunter class, is basically replacing the assasin.
No dbout if you want to start farming in D3 and make a powerfull char you play Sorc/mage first. Always ends up being the best for farming end game, with out requiring crazy gear. Or thats how its been in D1 and D2 and im pretty sure it will work out the same in D3.
Necro wont be included..... B.net 2.0 cant handle the lagg of the summons.
I'll admit that it's only your opinions, but you could atleast give the Demon Hunter a chance. Blizzard is still trying to make all classes likeable. atleeast say you'll play the Demon Hunter last. :) Anyway...I would play the characters in this order. (Note) - I'll make all the characters at the same time. (if I can) That way, I can PLAY them all close to the same time.
1) Witch Doctor (50% ppl think he's decent...I can't see how he isn't BETTER than decent)
2) Monk (I love the speed...it's awesome)
3) Demon Hunter (Nice tools and weapons...can't wait to try him/her)
4) Wizard (Can't have enough power, so I'm going with Wizard next)
5) Barbarian (I find that the Barbarian gets boring after awhile...especially if it's a remake of the original)

If not I can settle down for for Wizard. Nothing more awesome then spell nuke the crap out of everything in sight
I would have chosen the Demon Hunter if it wasn't for the dual crossbows (which I don't like).
Maybe I'll go for the Monk first.
I do like these swift hard-hitting characters more than pantsy wizards or brain-damaged barbarians.
Agreed, i always liked my rogue on wow over my warrior and mage.
The demon hunter was big dissapointment since I was expecting something like ilidan stormrage :(...not even close to the epicness of ilidan :(
Ok...I believe I have to say this...I have no choice...

lol blizzardfanboys
just because you like something DOESNT mean that we should like it too.

Barbarian.
Can't wait to reel my foes in, Mortal Combat style, or trample them with leap.
Since I loved my necro so much so maybe a Witch Doctor. I mean, rain of frogs? Who wouldn't like that?!
But then again, digging into zombies and demons with my feet doesn't sound too bad either ( Barbarian, rawr! ).
I think Blizzard really succeeded with their character design this time around, really hard to choose.
I'm probably through the game with each class, since the playstyles seem so different.

I would've been a Demon Hunter had she had the capability to use melee weapons. I hate ranged archers, too monotonous for me.
So I'm probably going to go with the Wizard.
