so i watched wreck it ralph for like the 100th time and i started to think of an idea for a game type based off of the Hero's Duty game in the movie.
im thinking 3 teams, pick between Toss or Terran, normal troops, armored units and finally air support and the enemy will be zerg and infested terrans, objective is to destroy the main building.
the best description i could think of would be a 3 player L2die style game only no special resorces but devoted tech tree.
Infantry, Armor/tanks and air (no capital ships, science and fighters)
working together you must fight your way through an infested outpost to a research facility and destroy it while battling waves of incoming zerg and infested, zerg eggs will be laid out in the fields and can respawn and hatch later.
waves will be mostly zerglings, infested terrans/marines mixed in with some hydras and roaches, the odd squad of 4 mutas, an odd ultra and other things here or there.
does that give a better idea of what i was meaning?
Incredible, incredible basic game idea. I bet right now you are in the 'feel' phase of your idea, you know what kind of feeling you would get from playing the game you want to make, but you're unsure exactly 'how' it has to be, to create that feeling.
And this is not the answer yet.
Keep digging.
Also, alot in a map is terrain and ambience feeling, aswell as abilities stuff etc. Not just the overall idea. An idea can be simple, like this one of yours, but still be incredible good if done interesting. Which means, noone can give you feedback on your idea alone, since the outcome depends entirely on the guy making the map, and not the idea itself.

terran and toss pick what kind of army to use.
