"This is why Microsoft doesn't like people modding and sharing their work. Some of these games are better than the majority of crap on XBLA (and PSN). "
So true. I'm willing to argue even how insanely big the influence of Duke Wintermaul was for countless other TD's leading to standalone TD games for mobile devices today. It's amazing what spawned from just War3...
Dunno, if I am developer I would support modders since Wc3 surely got lots of money coz of DotA.
People were buying Wc3 only coz of DotA. It brought only good things to blizzard.
Look at UDK, they are also smart.

A lot of what is on WC3 is influenced by StarCraft and a ton of other games. Turret D, hell any type of defense map, is pretty much the base of "Tower Defense." Another game, DotA, is an AoS style map. IIRC that also did not originate on WC3.
This is true but I couldn't stand it in SC1... War3 took it to a much better and more understandable level IMO. But that's just me.
It's like Diablo II. I know it's based on Diablo I and I know Diablo I is based on XX amount of other games... but there's nothing like Diablo 2 (in terms of quality and gameplay). I've played games that are close.. but just not 'there'.

Yeah, as evidenced by the fact that they're the only console manufacturer that has an indie developer program (XNA).
What a stupid quote.

Nice :)
However that's sad they do not credit sc2mapster nor the authors of the maps.
@vjeux: Go
They do, if you select a map, detail and credit is on the right side of the screen
Oh I see ... Well nevermind then :)
Pretty, cool... Too bad they didn't show us in the main article, -_-;.
Hm, message Kotaku ? You have right to ask credits.
Do you want me to do it ?
