I think it would be really fun to have a little ai competition. Pick a race and make ai for it. Ai's get placed in a 1v1 tournament against eachother with random map pool. Winner gets some sort of prize idk. All replays would be uploaded for viewing. Entry deadline on April 10th. Sign up if you wana participate.
Idk, does anybody know if there are any tools to get two ai's to play eachother? Can you implant Ais directly into th e sc2 mpq files, and then choose them from the menus in the custom game lobby? Any help would be greatly appreciated :D.
You can make 2 ais play each other, the easiest way is if the 2 ais are different races. If they are the same race, it would take a bit of tweaking, but its doable. Example; to play a zerg ai vs another zerg ai, you would take the zerg.galaxy file, and change the states to call based on player number. This would require renaming of most of the AI functions and files, e.g. you would call your renamed files if player number is 1, and call the other AIs files if player number is 2. If the AIs are different races, and the programmer was kind enough to do all of his programming in the Zerg.galaxy file, terran.galaxy file or protoss.galaxy file, it is as simple as overwriting the files and running the AI.
Thread necromancy, woohoo. Anyway, this is a great idea, that I'd love to get into after sc2's official editor is out. After I get into the map-making a bit I really want to make a competition quality AI. Definitely on my to-do list.

Actually, this would be a really cool idea. How exactly would this work though? I don't think we can edit alliance settings, can we?

At the moment, there is no easy way to make two different AI coexist unfortunatly :(

Is there a hard way? Could we manually control two players through the map script?

That picture is so cool! First time I see it! Otherwise, I have no idea how to program AI :O
