So...the new popularity system seems to make it harder for other games to make it to the top.
I've seen the same games on the first page for way too long now. And so far I have only seen 1 game go up 1 spot to get to the bottom of the top.
Also, I think the hours stack up too quickly. Even if the last popularity system was bad as well, I still think it was good enough to push a game that you make to the top.
My new map that I made really takes a lot of effort now to get any popularity. Does anyone think the games that have been on page 1 for several months, are NOT getting boring?
Because for me, I really don't think those games aren't worth playing for another month or more.
Does anyone else think the games that have been on page 1 for several months, are getting boring?
Is this a serious question?
I would like to change this question into: "Does anyone think the games that have been on page 1 for several months, are "NOT" getting boring?"
Locked for obvious reasons. If you want to tell Blizz that their Pop-System sucks, do so on the official forums. We're all aware of the problems of the system, no one here doesn't know already. Only Blizzard seems oblivious to it, as BlizzCon showed.
Well I think we understand moderator frustration on this topic lol. It was like in beta when the whining happened and then on sc2 release it happened all over again as everyone had the same problems lol.
There is no pragmatic value in beating this dead horse. But, there is value in allowing members to vent and discuss. Just because we know that these types of threads will not result in any change from Blizzard doesn't mean we shouldn't have them at all. If people want to beat the horse and do so orderly, why stop them? More posts = more active looking forums.
I will remind you that posting in locked threads might result in a few days out in the cold, alone, no warm fireplace to stay at and talk about mapping. We've had a goddamn SHITTON of these topics (Hello Rodrigo, it's your fault for a good amount) and we're all pretty much sick and tired of it. We got one thread to discuss about the pop-system and how to make it better, we don't need 30 threads on things (Hello Rodrigo & Bounty in the Workplace & General). One is enough. You see what it does to the Blizzard Forums to not step in and beat people a bit. It's a hellhole full of the same topics all over the place and a bunch of monkey. We don't need that, we don't want that. We want a clean, homely forum where you can talk about things - but please, stick to the goddamn topics, use the right forums and think before you post. If it's been discussed a few times and threads magically disappeared. chances are, you're pissing someone off, because he has more work. You're not making our lives easier. By now I should have a lifetime of curse premium and progammer should get a paycheck.
Also, the forum is broken, because nobody lets us do our own stuff. Curse is the problem, we already try to fix it. If I was Sixen, I'd have slapped someone by now. Twice. And a kick in the balls. Just because I'd RAGE about not being able to fix all the problems we have (especially on the Mainpage) so we all got a nicer place, just because of woopediefuckingdo WoW.
So, don't go around being stupid, use the search, use your brain. If it's not a 5 months old thread, you should post there.
Which reminds me:
Rodrigo, you go and find the goddamn Debates Thread before I have to. And I expect you to send me a list of all the other Debates Threads. So I can merge them. Double time!

The weird thing is that Apple's App store is suffering from this too with Angry Birds syndrome... but maps are free so it's a different thing atm...
Edit: Oh this is locked... but i can still post? I thought that was fixed.
Gorandor, don't be rude with the boy by locking his thread. He just does not know.

Oh yeah by all means I'm on your side on this one... was just saying it might not be so 'open' for moderators who have to read them all.

Sometimes it is nice just being the user and not having to do anything but post.

Whats worse.... blizz not fixing the pop system ... or curse admins .... not being able to actually "lock" topics?
Is this whole.... broken "locked" topics strictly only on sc2mapster or do the other curse forum work correctly...
i mean its basically one "if then statement" that needs to be fixed/ added to prevent the buttons from showing
